Are these the new Titleist Vokey SM8s?

Based on the pics they are going away from the higher lofts having mass distributed more behind the strike cg. Kinda thought the SM7 had a great design to build around. As long as they have the classic Vokey shape I’ll probably get some

I think this could be Vokes last wedge. There have been rumors that he is retiring in the next year or so, and Adam Dill we will stepping in to take his place. Not surprising that Titleist put his name twice (Logo AND "Vokey Design") as a little sendoff.

People have been saying that since the SM5. I remember thinking I needed some of the limited indigo blues, just in case they were the last Vokeys ever

 

Personally I hope they are trash looking like the ones posted so that I can finally switch to Mizuno wedges without feeling guilty. But ol' Voke always sucks me back in with some new fancy grind and some clean AF finishes. The raw black 60D is perfection though, so not sure what else he has up his sleeve.

Im going TM MG2 or Mizuno T20 unless they come out with a high toe. Love my 60k. These are sub-par. Doubt youll see a raw finish unless you pay 200.

With this design it definitely looks with the large unmarked area as if personalisation is going to be a big thing with the sm8 maybe a move to more laser engraving

I like the new design-some have mentioned they like the saw blade logo-I think it has run its’ course.

Clean it up and offer custom design options on the back.

I’d buy these.

This is the issue I had I found the high toes to be way more effective on certain shots around the green and equal on other shots. Wish vokey would come out with a high toe

I saw these today and hit some shots with them on a grass range. They look kind of like an S18 from behind the ball (a little larger and more round...definitely a touch of a departure from the traditional Vokey shape). The feel on these however is unreal; best feeling wedge I have hit in a long time since my Nike VR Forged II raws. I hit T20 today as well, MG 2, and Glide 3.0 and the Vokey felt the best by a mile. The T20 felt hard compared to this FWIW.

Interesting. I am liking the comparison to the S18 as I usually like that Mizuno series and I usually do not go for their T series. Golfers swear by the T series and I know they are fine wedges, but I also find them harsh at impact, and it very well could be I just don’t hit the sweet spot too often with them. But the more rounded look of the very underrated S5 was one I really liked, and same with the S18. I hit them much better.

It was going to be there or the new MG2... So far on looks I'm leaning towards Taylormade. Performance tips the scale, we shall wait and see.

I don't think Vokey has abandoned it, just found a way to keep doing it with moving weight around with the ridges and what not.

Was thinking the same thing, I was thinking that it could be a multi material head, heavier material implemented towards the top of the head? Tungsten?

I think those look pretty good. All the water ball testing has me looking at the ping wedges though. They seem to perform better than everything else.
