Protecting shaft labels

Hey guys.

 

Was wondering if any of the other super anal players (.. i had that porno in college) do anything extra to protect their shaft bands from peeling up.

I was thinking just well placed clear packing tape cut to size and even experimented with clear nail polish. But if anyone has a better solution please let me know. The larger stickers on shafts like ctapers (which i didnt put on yet cuz i dont have my method of protection picked out) or the $15 scotty custom shop sticker on my putter seem to get effected more .... i cant tell you how hard i started laughing myself when i opened a envelope in the mail and a the realization set in yhat i just paid $15 for something i could have found in my 4yr old sons bedroom.

But now that i did.. i wana protect it.

 

Anybody know of a "shaft laminate"??

What about using a screen protector for say an iphone and cutting it to fit?
You can get a Zagg Invisible shield on eBay for 10 bucks shipped. I bet 2 of them would do all your clubs.
I've used them on my phones for as long as I can remember. No scratches and when I peel it off my screen still looks brand spankin new.

I just put new labels on - took a strip of scotch tape and cut to length - then applied over the bands. Not sure if this will work, but that is what I did.

Yea . I have pretty bad OCD. Everything in my bag has a matching / complimentary color scheme.
I didnt think the iphone screen protectors were really sticky. I thought they use like static to cling to the face or something?

I will probably just cut the heavy packing tape to size, but ill let u know if i do something different

The clear packing tape works well. I've done that on my shaft bands that have club specs on them.

A completely new shaft label is coming. There will be no clear laminate layer that separates and peels off like they do today. You'll see the largest shaft maker begin to incorporate them soon. Cool stuff.

Some shaft companies like Nippon, even the old PX satins have shaft labels that are not stickers...they are sort of screened onto the shaft.

They dont peel at all...

Sorry for bumping an old thread. I have a set of G400 irons with Nippon Modus3 shafts. All of iron shafts have red labels nearly gone after putting and pulling shafts out of golf bag for one season.

Anyone else having same problem with Nippon shafts?

I have the same issues with the Modus shafts. My srixon gamers for 2 seasons have modus shafts and the labels on them are basically gone. I would almost prefer a sticker that peels since you can just buy new stickers...

Clear heat shrink tubing. You'd have to remove the grips to put it on though, most likely.
