Has anyone dealt with Cameron on this? I couldn't find an email address to start this process as I prefer not to waste my time on the phone.

The update I've heard is that they are going to continue to release new runs of these putters as long as they keep selling. First Release August, the September release just arrived in stores, and they are planning an October release already.

Yeah I wouldn't really have considered the insert that soft until I had a few 25ft+ putts. It went from clicky to extremely soft.

So not that limited now? Someone has offered me a brand new Fastback for my SS NP2 in a trade. Also offered me a 350 Milspec plus cash which I'm more inclined to take. If I didn't like the putter I need to be able to get a decent return for it. Sounds like quite a few are out there and I'm seeing a HEAP on BST still. How is everyone liking the Fastback who is actually gaming it? I'm playing the 5.5M right now which I'm really digging.

Thanks for the pix

interesting, I would have thought a bigger difference in toe hang between the fastback and the NP2

Great pix

It was $$$ at East Lake. Not so much on my home course with sanded/punched greens

I'm rolling the fastback 1.5 and here in Korea, they retail for $900. Fastback models were sold out instantly but you can still find the newports in some of the stores. A few thoughts:

-finger smudges are real and they distract you when looking down but they do disappear

-the feel is not as soft as expected but you get used to the feel and then you get hooked. I'm loving it. off center hits are clicky

apparently, you don't need to take care of these at all like the older versions because the new version is coated. is this true?

The original versions were carbon steel. The new version is stainless steel, which, should not rust.

I found a solution to the smudging and fading issues. My T22s came with some sort of oil or film on them that caused the paint to appear darker initially. This film would smudge and wipe off as I used them and they started looking lighter to me. On a hunch I tried wiping them down with a silicon cloth similar to the old Scotty oil cloths and they are back looking like new... smudge free and color restored. Wiping these down with a silicon cloth is not necessary for protecting the finish, but if you find the smudges annoying it is an easy solution.

won't the smudging/fading issue just come back as the oil from the silicone cloth wears off through normal use? what about just washing all that off with water and some mild detergent? then the oil/film is just off the putter - it'll look "lighter", but at least it'll be more uniform.

I couldn't agree with this statement more. I did not like the fit of the insert and paint etc, feel was also not there for me

I think these putters are great. I have two original 1997 era Newport TeI3s. Love the modern head weight, color shifting finish, and update to the putter. Got a Newport 2 because a Newport with a line is just wrong. Played my first two rounds with it at Arcadia Bluffs South and Crystal Downs and made some nice long putts with great distance control. Still adjusting to alignment on shorter putts.

I can’t believe all QC problems. I have no issues with mine.

Plus it’s a money maker for me. So much confidence with it.

I’ve compared the two as I have the Newport and my old Man has the two. His putter is marginally longer but I didn’t have anything to measure it with at the time.

Most likely they will send back a replacement. I know you swapped the weights. Did you put the originals back in before sending it back?
