Solheim Cup? You mean you aren't watching the season opener of the 2019-2020 PGA Tour wrap around season?

This won't happen because sponsors are obviously putting up big money/purses for it, but they should kill every event after the Tour Championship and before the Hawaii swing. I have zero interest in watching "normal" professional golf for the next few months. Give every 3-4 months off. It's absurd that the "off season" lasts two weekends.

There were places around Lancaster that did them a few nights a week so you could pretty much always find 10 cent wings and occassionally $1 pitchers. Bit of a shock to the system to move to NoVa in '96 and find that an appetizer of 8 wings was $5 or so. Gross.

You went to college in PA near Lancaster? Millersville?

in honor of the solheim cup?

Would the LPGA ever attempt to put on a USA vs Korea (or Asia) Solheim style event? There's enough evidence by now that that tournament would have the players to carry it every time. we might get beat every year but it might help market the Korean players to the US a little more too. They started that International Cup thing, but it's not really the same thing.

I just think its ludicrous that these events are worth as much as events in the Spring when everyone is actually playing. Would love to see some sort of dynamic FedEx Cup points system where the winner gets points based on the strength of the field and not just "all these events are worth 500 points." Sponsorship would never go for that though but still I wouldn't mind seeing these events worth far fewer points.

Mostly in honor of being bored and having sold every single spare golf item that I've had in my house.

Probably. I don't think too many American fans are going to get fired up over Charley Hull versus Hyung Sung Park. (well, I would). Of course we might not get too fired up if we got trounced every year either (this might be what the LPGA is guarding against by NOT having it -- a realization that we stink at golf).

Hey, pretty sure somebody had that brilliant idea somewhere else.

I'd be all for it. It'd be good to become more familiar with the Korean players, since they're the best in the world. But, yeah, the US would probably get its butt kicked all over the place.

But imagine the epic sun visors on the Asian/International team. They'd be off the chain!

For popularity, the Solheim Cup exists because of the Ryder Cup. That's the only reason it has the current team formats. Purely from a golf perspective, it'd be great to see the broader competition with more talent brought in to the event.

Politically, you aren't going to create an "Asia" team. Maybe you could make it USA & Europe vs the World.

Umbrellas. Funny, Dave. . .I hadn't seen your insta post until you just said this. Dave definitely mentioned this earlier. I actually found an article at one of the golf magazines from 2012 about the very same thing.

I just don't have such a strong "USA feeling" that I'd care if we got our butt kicked. I'd just like to see the best countries going at it. Maybe we could do USA/Canada/Mexico vs Asia.

The women are fired up today. That's for sure.

Lexi's swing looks like trash to me today. I never like her swing anyway.

Does she kind of "bug" anyone else?

Her last 5 years (or really since she posted on the cover of Golf Digest with the towel) seems to be this cycle of trying to be Anna Kournakova, complaining about how she's viewed in the media, writing a post to girls about "how you can be anything you want to be. Yay!", crashing and burning on the golf course, quitting golf and social media to recenter her life, then starting it all over again.

I don't care if you want to try to be a sex symbol. I don't care if you don't like being attacked on social media. But you can't have both. You're either "out there" or you aren't.

That said, her match right now (with Korda) against Ciganda and Law is really good so far. Korda just hit the best shot in on a par 5 when the euros were in better position.

I agree with everything you wrote wrt Lexi. On the opposite of the spectrum, I love how both Korda's swing....just so damn consistant as well.

On the movie front, they are filming Kung Fury 2, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender. Excellent.

I think I saw the original KF at City's suggestion, and just about died laughing. At some point I got my roommate to watch it with me and she just kept looking at me wondering why I was laughing. Didn't get it at all. I nearly end our roommate agreement permanently.

For the Solheim cup, the women have a bunch of outfits and they can pick what they want each day. They're not totally scripted. Clearly, there's a lot of overlap, but there's all these little subtle difference player to player. I like it.

Laura Davies said she didn't want to be a Solheim Cup captain because she didn't want to run bananas out to the players.

They showed her laying all s3xy in the grass like that picture of me at Mid Pines.
