After every round i wipe them down with a wet towel and dry them. place then in a shoe tree. Every other month i wash the laces and do a toothbrush clean and polish.

Clean the light colored golf shoes right after the round is crutial. If you wait for the dirt and grass stain to settle, then it'll soak into the leather and more work to clean/polish.

I always put a coat of water proof coating on the new shoes, the layer will prevent the soil and stain from settle into the pores of the leather. Refesh every once in awhile to keep the protective coating on the shoes. 3M makes the shoe spray under several brands.

Wipe down with a wet cloth. I use some warm soapy water and a brush if necessary. If they are really wet, I stuff them with newspaper while drying out. Polish and then use beeswax.

In a separate thread someone posted, as well as above here, about using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I bought one and it cleaned my Air Max 1's right up. I never thought to put the laces in the washing machine and that's next on my list.

Warm soapy water and a microfiber towel. White shoe polish when needed.

 

Clean stuff stays clean and is easier to clean.

Mine are not real leather, but rather whatever material Nike makes their shoes out of. The waterproof leather"ish" ones though not flyknit. Anyways I clean mine after most rounds but when I want a deep clean I take out the insoles and throw them in the wash with the whites and some bleach. I then let them air dry. They come out looking brand new!

For those that have used the Magic Eraser, was the finish of the leather compromised at all considering it's an abrasive?

it's all you need. I use it on all of my regular sneakers and golf shoes.

 

Nothing to think about, get it wet and it cleans in 1 wipe. Use it on my concords, AM1's, Cement 3, etc golf shoes and never an issue.

 

Just a sneaker addict whose sneaker collection has transformed to a golf shoe collection :)

anyone have any tips on how to fix a scuff on the toe of my white tour 360's? It scraped off a little on the surface and looks dark underneath.

no problem with putting in washing machine but bleach will yellow white soles,I just wipe down well and use a nail brush with ivory soap on the soles

I agree with wiping down the shoes after each round to keep them looking good and minimize the need for shoe polish to cover the dirt stains. I've used Magic Erasers, but I was a little bit concerned about the long term effect on the leather. Lately I've been using Lexol leather cleaner and Lexol leather preservative. Its normal use is for cleaning automobile leather seats, but it works great for cleaning leather golf shoes. The shoe polish I use to restore the color to white shoes is Foot Joy White Paste Wax Polish. It's the best white shoe polish I've ever found.

You need leather dye to restore the color. White polish will just rub off.

 

I recommend Feibings white leather dye. You can apply with a Q-tip. Let it dry and then add some white shoe polish to even out the color.
