Mizuno MP-20 - July 2019

I really like the $ taper. That is the shaft that I am currently playing, but the C taper lite was actually pretty good as well. I am not a big fan of the standard C taper but the lite seemed to be baby bears porridge.

 

One more thing. I am not sure about the added camber on the new MP20s. I feel like there is too much bounce on the irons. I actually play better with a sharper leading edge.

I’m really liking the $ Taper as well. It’s a very good shaft. I think the C Taper Lite pairs well with lower spin and Lower launch heads actually.

I had my custom fit last monday and Mizuno have already built and shipped the clubs to my retailer. Should be with them tomorrow.

Can’t wait to have a full session with the MP20’s

Well, after what felt like 1000 balls, over the past 2 weeks trying every shaft, I finally finalized my order today. I'm sticking with dynamic gold, but going with the 120 version. I tried to like the modus 120, it was a close call. Going to stick with what I know.

 

MP-20 SEL, 5 to pw.

-1/2" on 5-9 irons and -1/4" on pw.

1° flat

Pw weakened to 47°.

GP tour velvet grips.

Unfortunately could not find a SEL HMB head to test. I hope to be able to find one after the launch.

My custom set arrived today to my retailer’s shop. I can’t get them until later in the week so I’m having them check lofts and lies etc. Wedges haven’t arrived and are apparently backordered according to retailer.

My local GG has a full set of the SEL's on display. Man, what a beautiful looking set of irons. As a lefty, it's a dream to be able to snag this muscle design with moderns lines. Been a user of the MB2's for a longgg time, and assuming these perform, they will be the ones to finally kick the Adams out of the bag. Just a perfect clean look, nice little bit of mass in the muscle, really excited to give these a go.

Was able to make it in and pick mine up. Had my retailer check lofts and lies. Lofts were spot in but all the MBs were 3/4* flat to requested spec while the HMBs were perfect. Weird. Beautiful clubs.

I've had MP 68's for the past 9 years. Are these blades easier to hit than the blades of 9 years ago?
