Who's still in the directed Force putter?

After watching the recent TXG vid I am intrigued again. Now that you can get the stability shaft in this thing... with the high moi of that head club ultra low torque shaft, could this be the most forgiving putter overall?

To be honest, I tried the torque balanced Edel putters and did not like them. This seems to be a very similar principal so I'm not sure it's for me.

It feels nothing like the Edel or an Axis1, which feel like they’re hooding on the back swing. The DF swings very nicely. I did not like the look or the feel, but the balance is great.

Had the pleasure of doing a fitting with Sam, the CEO of Directed Force today. Was such a valuable experience - he helped me get in the correct positions to allow the putter to work as intended.

I loved everything about it. He recommended a certain alignment aid that would help with the way my eyes align to the ball and even gave me drills to work on distance control with the putter.

If you have an opportunity to test this putter (especially with Sam), definitely do it. I'm shocked more people aren't using it as this putter feels like cheating..

Ordered mine immediately after the fitting and couldn't be more excited to get it. If anyone has any questions about the putter let me know!

When properly fit they are point and shoot.

Agree on the Edel comments this feels NOTHING like other so called balanced putters. Nothing.

They are hideous, but not as hideous at 3 putts....and thats all I care about.

I am saving up my monies :)

If you are facebook reach out to Bill Presse, he can do a remote fitting with you if you already know your preferred length and lie

I'm not as caring about looks to be honest, I've used a variety of putters over the years. Sound and feel probably make a lot more difference to me as far as the enjoyment I get from putting. Then again, I'll enjoy draining more putts than a feathery feeling face.

I'd just need to test one first to see if it was for me. I'd be willing to buy a used one blind at the right lie angle and length at a good price.

I'd love for them to make a "mini" version of the mallet putter with the same shape but a more normal size. I think that would be ideal. The branding iron size of the current version is just unwieldy. I've run into a few situations where I was up against a fringe and it's just impossible to use from there.

Must be going on 3 years with my DF putter. I still try different putters at the PGA Superstore near me but nothing comes close to knocking it out of my bag. I keep hearing about how ugly , big, etc. it is but if performs, who cares?? I only wish it came out 20 years ago and it would have saved me a lot of $$$ that I spent on putters every year.

Not a direct answer but I got fit for an ER5 and I used the stab shaft during the fit, and I also used a stock shaft. There was very little in it. My face conditions were within the same margin of error so I didn't find it worth it. Perhaps with heavier heads (maybe 370g+) that could change or maybe the newer tour version could get things a little better. But, with both shafts my face angle was always within about .6* of target line.

I just got a DF Reno 2.1 with the stability shaft. I did the remote fitting. It is a too cold out now for any rounds, but I plan on practicing inside and trying to get to the putting green when I can.

Any tips on ball placement or practice tips?

I have read forward also.

Start with placing the shaft where you normally place the ball in your stance. Since most putters have off set the ball and shaft are usually in the same spot, keep the shaft there and move the ball forward.

I didnt know this when I first tried one so I sold it because I couldnt get the speed down, now that I do know it Im on the hunt for an other DFP lol

I just bought a DF 2.1 on a whim. Did the online fitting and found a brand new one in my spec on BST. My scoring average is just under 74 and I average around 31 putts. I feel like if I could get that down to 28-29 it would really allow me to try some competitive golf.

how are people finding their DF? The tech just kind of makes sense to me and I’m excited to give it a run....

It has been a game changer for me. I have had mine since February. Dropped my 3 putts per round average from 6 to 2. I think the putter is a large part of that. Setup is key with this putter and once that is figured out, let it do the work. Happy putting!!

I am sure I am not the person you are looking for feedback from but I use one and love it. We worked really hard to get it right. other companies can just find a way to add the extra 150g anywhere but for us it quite a trick to maintain balance and MOI in the same head with an extra 150g. I think we nailed it. I never had interest in broomstick putters but through he prototyping process I am convinced its a better method. If cash is not a big issue, I strongly recommend the BGT shaft. they make a version specific to those method and its awesome.

Can I ask how the DF turned out? You still gaming it?
