Bad weekend for R&R. Can't believe I never saw the Cars in concert. Big dummy head, I am.

 

We all know the Phoebe Cates scene in FTARH, featuring the song "Moving In Stereo". Amazingly, the same song made it into a Stranger Things episode.

 

I prefer the former but the latter cracked me up.

Missed this thread in its initial run, just read thru the whole thing. Some good stuff in here. Graduated HS and college in the first half of the decade, kind of in the wheelhouse.

 

Top of my list is populated with a lot of metal. A whole lot of Iron Maiden, especially the entire Number of the Beast album. Essential. Same with Metallica, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, all incredible. Gotta give a mention to Anthrax and I'm the Man, I Am the Law, etc. And, can't forget the metal God, Judas Priest and Rob Halford's incredible pipes. Thought their post Screaming for Vengeance stuff was pretty damn good, even with the synth-guitar sound. Megadeth Rust in Peace CD still gets play in my car.

 

Several Ozzy mentions, but I have to vote for Diary of a Madman, the title song from that album. Incredibly underrated IMO. Had to play it while typing this. LOL

 

Speaking of underrated, well, kind of.... there was a song by Babylon A.D., "Bang Go the Bells." Always thought it seriously smoked, riff kicked some serious backside. Otherwise know little about them.

 

Twisted Sister, but not the Stay Hungry vintage, instead the older You Can't Stop Rock & Roll. Pretty good album, entertaining video for the title track.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Lover Boy a few times. Once years ago, and I believe Quiet Riot opened for them... or QR opened for Billy Idol, but regardless, it was a long time ago. Then about 20 years ago they were playing on Fremont St in Vegas in a free concert. The red leather pants? Unforgettable, sadly.

Diary of a Madman was one of my favs. Saw Ozzy in Ft Wayne during that time. Hung a midget over the crowd. T'was awesome.

I remember seeing Ozzy during his No More Tours tour. Wasn't bad, but it didn't hold up to the Metallica-GNR stadium tour. Some of that could be my being on main floor, around 16th row, for the latter. Seriously awesome. \m/

4th row at Van Halen was by far the best concert I have attended.

 

Monsters of Rock in Indy was up there as well. Kingdom Come, Dokken, Metallica, Scorpions and Van Halen.

Fair Warning's my favorite VH album by a mile.

Saw them in Ft Wayne and made my way to the very front. Following weekend I saw them in Indianapolis wearing my concert tee from Ft Wayne. Made my way to the front again and my sweat soaked tee got ruined by the black paint on the plywood I was pinned against.
