I like the look of them. Remind me of the ADAM'S line a few years ago. Keep it coming Cleveland!

That's a nice look. Cleaner than the big-box package look that their GI/SGI irons have had in the past.

I really like the look of the utility irons. They basically look like a more friendly version of the Srixon utilities, which makes sense. The stock specs are essentially the same between the two, with the Cleveland being a tad more upright and with more offset. And $30 cheaper, to boot. I think I'm going to pick up the 4 iron to replace my trusty 4 hybrid, which I find hits the ball a little too high.

I think they definitely look good, will be interested to see the specs. Hopefully they will be easy to track down and hit once they roll out.

I read they're going to offer a 3 iron too. Might be a good driving iron option. Overall I think they look good, I'll be interested to see them in person.

Kinda cool looking. I love that Cleveland still uses the Diadic nomenclature for their gap wedge.

these remind me of the first edition of the callaway epic irons, minus the badging and embellishments. in fact, they look a lot nicer than the epic's.

I'm curious about how much overlap there is between the long irons on these and the Srixon Z u85. It looks like the u85 is 1020 Carbon with a SUP10 face. The UHX is HT1770M face. I have no idea what the difference between the two materials is. I understand that the LLL are different, but I'm wondering about the actual tech differences.

 

I'm interested in giving these a demo!

I loved Cleveland stuff back in the day, but never remember them using the D for a gap wedge. Then again, I don't think any of my Cleveland sets included a gap wedge. Always had the rusty 588s.

It does back to old school 588. Back then a gap wedge, Diadic, was a 53° wedge.

That is pretty cool, never really noticed it back in the day. I have been away from Cleveland for probably 8 years, but these will get a shot for sure.

Interesting. I had read that 'D' stood for Dual wedge. It serves a dual purpose between a Pitching wedge and a Sand wedge.

It's not dual at all though. That doesn't make sense. What is diadic? Whoever termed the gap wedge is perfect 100-110yd club makes the most sense. Going from 46 to 56 they needed a "gap" wedge 52.

I'm just repeating what I read. I think Gap wedge and Approach wedge are fine names. That being said, I don't mind Cleveland differentiating themselves by calling it a dual wedge. Whatever. If youre going to have a 44* PW please just make another set club after that. (We havent even broached the topic of the W2 club.)

Went looking for a utility iron to replace my 19* hybrid, which I hit around 200 on a good swing. It's fine off the fairway but launches too high off the tee. I'm a mid-teens handicapper with a driver swing speed in the high 90's. Tried the Tour Edge HL4, Titleist U500, Srixon U85, and the 4 iron (20*) of this Cleveland set with the Recoil shaft in stiff flex. Was looking for a club to hit around 200-215 off both the tee and fairway. The HL4 felt great but launched a little too high like my hybrid. The Titleist felt great but required a more repeatable swing than I have. Same for the Srixon. Long story short, the Cleveland was the best of this bunch. A good swing produced shots around 215 off the mat; bad ones still went around 190. The feel was solid and smooth. So I was getting one club more distance than my hybrid, which is 1* stronger in loft. Walked out with the club. Played twice and had the same results....around 200-210 off the tee (in 50* weather) and 190-200 off the fairway. I hadn't heard of this club before going to the store so I researched them when I got home.....found this thread and thought I'd opine. I really like the club and can't wait to get more familiar with it and hit it in better weather.

Put 5-D in the bag two weeks ago (R Flex, Dynamic Gold, std loft/lie/length). I am hitting them about a club longer, which makes sense with the stronger loft. I had Ping G20's. I like the V Shape soles. They do go high, but not too high. Still getting use to them, but I think it was a good choice. For me, the 5i is the least confident, but then that was the same with the Pings. I tried the 5 UHX Utility, but didn't swing it well. The utility is listed as D4, while the set 5i is D2, so I think it was the swingweight that my swing did not like. Very nice to look at address, top line is not big (coming from Ping G line, so those playing forged or players irons likely will see a difference). Seeing the back of the cavity on the hollow irons is not a problem for me. I will likely pair up with a Cleveland CBX 54° wedge down the road. If you are in the market for a reasonable priced GI (SGI?) iron with all the current tech, take a look.
