Hi all

 

Well finally got to demo the F9

Thought I would end up being blown away and want to swap immediately but that was not the case.

I was crushing my F8, flight was better and distance was overall better. As I said before just for me.

I even put my shaft in the F9 to see if that helped but I think it was a swing weight issue, the head is so light compared to my F8 because of the extra heavy weight I have in it.

I just felt my F8 was more solid and looked so much better at address, I did take lots of comparison pictures but they were all to large of files to upload apart from one from the bottom.

Nice update. Newer isn't always better especially when what you have is dialed in and already working great. The F9 is getting good buzz but the F8 is no slouch either.

Well just a little mid season update , will get pics on when I get a chance.

Driver: No change still F8 9*

4 wood: No change 07 burner TP 17*

3 hybrid : New Ping Anser 20*

4 hybrid : back to old G20 23*

Irons : No change Lynx VT

Wedges : No change 50* Nike forged 54&60* Nike engage . Just can't find replacements

Putter : No change Nike 001 "Oven" flowneck

Ball : 2019 Chromesoft X

This setup has been working for me recently with courses I've been playing. Especially the top end of my bag , it just seems fixed for now , I always try different hybrids and UT irons but always seem to come back to ping .

 

Well thank you all for looking , been to busy trying to fit in rounds and spending Time with my 1 year old daughter I forgot all about my favourite forum , well I guess all I can say is I'm back ?

Well after my post about hardly changing any clubs, I have been scouring the Bay looking for pretty much anything and then I came across this little beauty.

was always one of my favourite shafts when I was a junior playing , can't wait for this little beauty to arrive ... My 07 burner TP should be shaking in its boots.

I shot my best round of the year this morning , a 4 under 65 , was my first round with my new wedges and my new p790 Udi .. can't wait to keep testing.

Well I have made a few changes to my bag through the winter for the start of the season

Well as you can see If you have been following this thread is that there have a few substantial changes to my bag during the winter. But the lynx VT irons still remain.

I had my cobra f8 for just over 2 years , was such a good driver and I really thought it would be in there again for another season. But after seeing the new SIM range I just had to go test it. Initial testing was really good, I tested w few other drivers (mavrick, SZ, STrange) but the SIM line just suited my eye just behind the ball I love the way even in the higher loft , it looks open , for what it's worth this is probably the first time I've ever ended up with a 10.5* head but man it just works , high flat bombs( well for someone with hip arthritis haha) I couldn't leave the 10mph ballspeed on the table to the SIM max is in the bag.

I thought I would end up with the standard sim 3 wood because I always preferred a smaller headed fairway but then it was released and was only 5cc smaller, I love the v-steel sole always have , I haven't had had a standard 3 wood in a while and must say it's so easy to launch and shape and I suppose if it makes this crazy game any easier then it's a winner. Went in open minded to both fittings and was pleasantly surprised.

The GAPRs are both pretty recent purchases , I picked up the heads for dirt cheap at a closing down sale near me. Had the IROD shafts in the garage uncut , got everything set up and hit the launch monitor to dial in gaping and flight. Man these really remind me of old Adam's, which is a good thing.

I can see this set up lasting for the foreseeable future..

Thanks man, yeh iblades have been really solid. Going to be hard to get them out my bag.

I liked the headshape of the P790, but wasn't sold on the Hzrdus. Didn't have time to have a shaft shootout so gave it to my old man. 

Love the Vice balls , been playing the Pro Plus since 2015 , was a pro VX player before. Try the odd New ball but always go back. I find it pretty long and has great control. I buy in bulk aswell when I need them. Defo worth a try If your thinking about it.

I started the Season with the Sim Max driver but the Ping g425 was just Flat bullets.

Also took my 2 iron & 4 iron out and put my g20s back in the bag, Member of an inland course now so don't need stinging bullets as much as high floaters now. they are just so easy to hit.

Had a tour van experience with Srixon/ Cleveland to get my wedges built and also add the 48 degree into the mix , makes such a massive difference for me. 

 

I play my irons power spec to bring my flight down. So PW was 45*.

 

Had a putter fitting for my new Seemore. Really opened my eyes for my stroke. SAM putt lab is fantastic.

Yeh really happy with my set up at the moment. Just my 5 wood is a bit spinny but the 410 Lst should help with that.

 

Cruden was excellent,  back up next season to play there and Trumps will be an excellent trip..

what were your thoughts on the Lynx VT irons?  I played iblades prior and wondered your thoughts.  I moved onto PXG 0211 so the hollow head construction is intriguing.

I really enjoyed them , but when I started playing for competitive again and practicing more I was hitting them very very high, but they are still very very good irons.

 

Just prefer the iblades tho.

Hi all 

 

Well done my WITB last month. While playing last Monday at pretwick St nicholas, I thought I had hit a perfect drive onto the 17th Green. 290 to the green. Ball flew fine but the sound was loud and clanky.

Got home and cleaned my clubs only to realise that I had cracked the face and crown on my driver. 

Wasn't ideal as I had a round at Western Gailes 2 days later.

Went and seen my friend who suggested I try his back up driver. Played at Western Gailes and had my best driving day to date. Longest I've been in years.

Safe to say I called and bit his hand off for the driver.

Driver: Titleist Tsi 4, 9.75* Graphite Design Tour AD HD 6

The club is in fantastic condition as I said a back up driver. So can see this in bag for next season.

 

Also put my trusty G20 20* Hybrid back in the bag 

Graphite design 95 utility. Just does what I need it to do and get get it out the cabbage which I struggled to with my u505.

I know it gives massive big toe Vibes but as i said. Just so easy to hit.

 

The last change i made until i can get a proper fitting is my 3 wood. The Pxg is good off the deck but find it was ballooning to much when hitting into a wind. So my old old trusty back in the bag.

3wood: Taylormade M2 16 tour issue Deep Face. 16.5*. UST Attas Rockstar 7x. 

It just sets up perfect for me but i do really like the look of the pxg. This m2 is just low spin bomber of the tee and the deck.

Nice setup, interesting going with the B2 putter, have a chance to try the Link.1 yet? I found it much better than the B2.

I've got/ had all the L.A.B putters, but my gamer for 12 years before was a Circa 62 #1 , which was tiny and the L.A.B tech in the small headsize im used to of the B.2 is pretty awesome for me the now. And the B.2 Is a 400g gram head and I play it long it's just great. Has your irons arrived yet @MattM97

Gota I tried the B2 for a bit but just wasn't for me, the Link.1 I could see playing but putting is kinda on cruise control right now for me. 

 

Not yet they arrived at TXG I guess in queue to be build up/checked over. We're on week 3 so still early.
