Maybe this has been mentioned ? But if not. Didn’t Sean Toulon Design the original spider putter ?

 

Splitting hairs if so to even say that anything was copied. I’m sure TM holds some ownership. But would be like accusing bob vokey of copying the M grind if he left and went to Cleveland.

Yes, you're correct. He claims the Spider design while at TM. I posted a pic of his LinkedIn a few pages back. He lists it himself.

Odyssey has been using the three dot alignment for years, well before the Scotty line. It's on a bunch of the #7s and Jailbirds.

To me, there is just too much to these heads to enjoy looking at. These TaylorMade, oops, I mean Odyssey, putters don't do it for me, too many angles.

Hopefully there will be something other than the standard double bend/face balanced option for lefties.

It might just be the angle of the pictures, but that doesn't look like the standard Odyssey slant neck. It looks like the shaft is even with the face, or even slightly behind it, instead of ahead of the face. I can't contort my Jailbird with the slant neck to match the pictures.

See that is what I love about these. I am not a fan of rounded edges. Much prefer straight lines amd angles.

I’m intrigued by this. I love the look and play of the spider tour. And the stroke lab shaft seems to help. Best of both worlds?

I am really looking forward to testing these. I have been playing the TM Spider Tour (DJ model) for almost 2 years. Love it. I believe this style is here to stay as many other companies have been making their own versions ( Scotty, Odyssey, PXG, etc).

I am definitely interested in this. Been wanting to try a putter with this shaft for a while but haven’t wanted any of the head shapes. I do like the Spider shape (and yes I know Sean Toulon designed the Spider!). Could be a winner for me.

The Spider design has been out for like 12 years, why did you wait 12 years to remark that you don't like the design?
