As long as they aren't knockoffs it's a virtual lock that Smith will replace them. Great customer centric company and warranty service.

> Both. I wear prescription lenses, so I got a pair with the Trivex golf lens, and then a second pair with photochromatic lenses for cloudy days. I was uncertain when the photochromatic pair came as to whether they would lighten up enough from really dark conditions; they assured me that if there was a problem, we'd try other stuff until we got it right. Happily, that hasn't been necessary.

I'm in the same boat with a prescription lens. 'Just finished dropping $600 (w/ insutance discount) on a pair of Maui Jim's. I really like them, but I'd like to pick up a 2nd pair.

What tint do you have on the Trvex? What frame did you go with? It seems the Sling-Blade is the only frame that bears any resemblance to the typical Oakley golf frames.

I spent hundreds of dollars on Costas because of their reputation, NC humidity makes them fog up like gas station shades, huge mistake. Pickup up some Shady Rays sport style, love them for $50

These work in almost any weather and never fall off. Lenses are solid. Let me know if you need to score a pair, I can hook you up.

I love Costas and have several pair. I picked up a pair of their new Diego's which have ventilation on the sides of the arms that help prevent fogging up and they work great. Also in NC.

Side note; Costa has great customer service. A older pair I owned became worn after many years. I sent them back to be repaired under their policy. The model I sent has since been discontinued so they offered me any new pair so I selected another set of Reefton's. Couldn't recommend Costa del mar more.

just scooped a pair of the Oakley Targetline with Jade Prizm lens. I didnt want the dark grey because i hate that you can see your eyes through the lens. The Jade have a sort of reflective look (kinda like the old Iridium lens they use to have) which worked for me. Plus the fact i wear a hat most days, the slanted upper corners make a nice fit with no rub on your hat brim

I realized a while back that I’m a sunglasses junkie. I have spares for my spares. In my defense, I spend a lot of time at the beach and I usually use an older, “spare “ pair so as not to ruin my “good” pairs. I have 3 different shades I use for golf. Under Armour that I got for a great price. They have the rose colored golf lenses and are reasonably comfortable. I have the Oakley Targetlines with the rose golf lens. Lens is better than the UAs but they are heavy after a while. I also have a prescription pair of MJ Ho’okipas and I like them the best, but after 18 holes the nose pads rub scratches into my nose. I also have some MJ World Cups that are the coolest looking shades ever but they weigh close to 25 pounds I think. After just a few minutes my nose bridge will have migrated down my face a half inch or so. I kid, I kid...

Anyway, I find they all have their pros and cons and none of them “help” with finding balls or reading greens. So just get something that keeps the sun out, can easily withstand taking on and off, and look cool. My $0.02. I just saved you a fortune. You’re welcome!

They don’t look like space goggles, won’t budge, don’t fog up, and their lenses are better than Oakley prizm

Currently gaming the REKS Slingblade ($30) with RX HD Trivex performance lenses with Golf tint ($195). These were half the price of my previous pair - Oakley Flak XL 2.0 ($146) with RX Prizm Golf lens ($350). The one thing I did not like about the Oakley Flak XL - the lens is made to be interchangeable. On occasion the lens would pop out and the edges of the lens that fit into the Frame were thin and the RX part of the lens was thicker - after a while the thin part broke off. Still usable but disappointing.

I wear the REKS every day; golfing or not. I find them to be fairly rugged.

golf courses have sand and grit everywhere, and one expensive pair got wiped out when a tiny pebble came straight up during a bunker shot and scratched the lens right in my line of sight.

better the glasses than my eyes. I've lost or scratched up too many pairs to count.

last season I grabbed a couple pairs of Tifosi brand at the course. they fit well and offer good protection.

there's an REI nearby that also sells them.

I was recently in Tokyo and stopped in at Swans sunglasses store down the street from the Mizuno Tokyo flagship store. Tried out their 'ice blue' lenses for golf (two shades ligh & dark avail) and ended up buying them along with a frame that allows me to swap the lenses in seconds. I have a big noggin and have a hard time getting sunglasses that fit me comfortably but these were excellent. The shop does not participate in tax free program for foreign passport holders but if you ask, they'll give you a 10% discount to make up for the tax. I really like the ice blue tint - I have Oakley dark and regular golf prizm glasses but like these ice blue lenses better. Haven't looked to see if you can buy in US line but ever in Tokyo - I recommend stopping in and trying for yourself.https://www.swans-overseas.com/products/sunglasses/sunglass-technology/

My optometrist carries all the major brands so I'm not concerned he's affiliated with any one brand. I asked him his recommendation for best polarized lens.

His answer - Maui Jim - he explained their polarization process is by far the best and their lens clarity is second to none. Bought a pair with the Brilliant HT lens - expensive but I'm never not impressed when I wear them.

I like RayBan Scuderia Ferrari Collection RB3602M, and wear them for already a year. Still think they are the best. But as you know they are from a premium segment and cost $280, so not everyone can afford them. I bought myself such a "gift" only once because I think it's stupid to spend all money on expensive accessories from Givenchy, Hugo Boss, Cartier and so on. I am of the opinion that all this stuff you can buy with normal prices in the shops like Mango, Layoners. I have a pair of sunglasses https://www.layoners.com which cost me only $35 and look so stylish.

I've have many pairs Oakley's, Smiths, Costas and Maui Jim. IMHO, Maui Jim has the best lenses. My favorite are their glass Rose colored lenses. They are the ones I reach for most. Then the bronze. The Maui HT is pretty nice too, although not available in glass lenses. As an added bonus, you can add reading magnification to them for us old guys.

Cost Del Mar 580G is also a good lens. I have them with blue lenses which provide a greenish tint. They don't offer too many glasses without a lot of peripheral blockage from the frames, though.

Nothing wrong with Smith and Oakley either.

If I had to rank them: 1. Maui Jim, 2. Costa Del Mar, 3. Oakley 3. Smith
