What's your go-to Ball Marker?

Recommended Posts

My Dad passed away in January - Was a big Dayton Flyer fan, so I had Joel at Atomic Golf make up a UD ball marker, with a shamrock and my Dad's initials on the back. Also a small ode to my Dad, ball marker made in Brass, my Dad was born and raised in Waterbury CT, "Brass Capital of the World"!

I don't use it often or really at all unless it's a special occasion. It was my grandfather's that was passed down to me. Engraved is surname, I also share his full name.

Usually only on the green for a second or two. But if I see the course has used chemicals recently I dont do it.

it's amazing the current custom ball marker and ball repair craze right now. I thought putter covers were ridiculously priced, but now.... i saw a custom ball marker on ebay with a SOLD price of over $800. really?

They aren't even made of any precious metal. Some cool looking ones out there and to each their own but wow that is nuts.

I did purchase a few Scotty markers a number of years ago - never used, but have since sold them off.

I lost my fav marker from Medinah 1990 US open. i use a few various coins i've collected from different countries around the world. I also use a red range token i came across somewhere years ago. typically rotate between a few coins like quarters, nickels and dimes. i avoid pennies as they can be harder to see on greens (brown greens!) Once i make a putt i typically stick with the marker and rotate if i make a bad putt. I also started making my own markers -- only gifted them so far, but will plan to make a few for my own use over the winter.

Watching some of this stuff get listed on Instagram for crazy prices blows my mind. Golf is already an expensive hobby, but these accessory prices are taking it to a whole new level.

yep crazy.... $810 -- $519, etc.... Tyson Lamb...

Mark up must be astronomical on these. If people are buying them for these prices they are doing something right. People are complaining over $500-$600 drivers but i can't imagine spending more than that on a ball marker. personal choice and i'm sure many have extra cash to spend on their vices so totally up to them. Crazy in my opinion.

At least you can use your old ball marker to acquire a new one
