Well....you don't have to.

 

But i'm in a crazy birdie drought. This is totally a guess but i'd say i have something like ~ 5 birdies in my last 200 or so holes. Basically around 0.5 per 18 holes over my last 10-11 rounds. It's pretty unfathomable considering my index and considering i had 3 in one of those rounds. That basically means i have 2 in the other 10 rounds combined, as a 1 index right now.

 

At first it was kind of a joke in my group. Then in my saturday round this past weekend i shot a 75 with 4 different 360 degree lip-outs for birdie. The following day a 77 with no birdies. Now we are pretty sure i have done something to offend someone with power over these things

 

The irony is I'm actually hitting the ball as well as i have ever have. Further irony is I played a charity Vegas last Friday and had 4 natural birdies and an almost-natural eagle (i'm not counting these because i had looks at the putt before etc...The almost natural eagle we took a drive that was basically a couple yards closer than mine but i hit the approach and the putt)

 

I have a club championship coming soon. I need to figure out how to end this drought. So either send me your vibes....or i am going to kill a goat.

 

Anyone ever had a weird drought like this? (proportionally considering your index?)

I'll let you borrow mine. Had 9 birdies Sunday over 27 holes(7 on 18 and 2 one the 9 hole round). Will need them back next week as my club championship is the 31-1

I'm getting better, but not good enough to spare any of the birdies I get. Your "drought" isn't far off from my normal game.

 

Then again, I'm a 10 index, so I'm not expecting a flurry of birdies every round.

I played with my Dad last weekend and moved up to the Senior tees to spend the day with him. Made 4 birdies, missed a few more. Not to mention playing the short course made me feel like a tour player. This will now be my get out of a rut move.

Good luck in the Club Championship, you'll make a bunch when it counts.

I’ve had one birdie since April and am around an 8 handicap... So whatever vibes you get please send them my way! My one birdie was a chip-in! I cannot make a putt (and have switched putters not surprisingly).

I know right!!! Every shot counts the same I guess, but I tend to make more par putts lately

I've been a birdie machine last 6 weeks, also playing off a 1, sending good vibes

I think my last 68 was 6 birds and an eagle . .I know I am a total dbag

I've been finding about 1 per round lately (10 cap), but at my level my goal is just to balance birdies and double bogeys. If I can offset every double with a birdie, that's usually a great day.

Honestly I'm playing pretty normal, it's just a crazy cold streak. Obviously some rounds my approaches are like, 20 footers and I make none. And that is fine when its just one round....but I haven't made a long putt for as long as I can remember, I haven't chipped in this year I dont believe

 

And then other rounds , like my Saturday 75, I had like 5-6 birdie putts inside 15 feet and missed all of them (4 were lipouts)

 

I'm just really frustrated. I hope in my club championship I just make like 7 birdies to account for this in each round lol

Your drought is at the right time ... think of it that way

I had a stint last year, not quite as long as yours, where I was burning edges for weeks. Went on for a few weeks until I finally tracked it down to the fact I was starting the ball just a hair off line.

When I was coming out of high school at about a 2 index, I had a drought of about 6 or 7 rounds without a birdie. It was during the biggest time of our year and I believe it cost me a trip to regionals. Almost decided to not pursue college golf because it just wasnt fun to suck. Ended up making a lucky bomb on the last hole of my 8th round to get that elusive birdie thus ending the drought and convincing me to play college golf.

 

Fast forward, I played low end division 1 golf for 4 years and am now the all time birdie leader for my school (my younger teammate ended his career 8 birdies behind me).

 

As long as you keep playing the birdies will come. Just gotta play the shot in front of you and block the negative thoughts. Good Luck!

i'm going to tentatively say this is helping....I shot 74 today with 2 birdies. Made a 20 footer and another from about 12-13 feet

 

Not exactly throwing them in from everywhere. But 2 is a lot better than 0.

Try planting feathers on the course, it helps to grow future birdies.

I only get about 60-70 birdies per season, and I usually play 85-100 rounds on average. So I don't really wanna share.

 

I mean, I'm sure some could be had for a price... :-)
