I have some in some TM TP blades, there actually not bad. I would even say smoother feeling than 6.5s.

Yep. I agree. Just heavier weight really. It’s not a stiffer feeling deal than 6.5. Surprising how easy they launch.

I went to regrip my clubs yesterday. I don’t go to a big box store like PGASS or anything like that. Been using tour velvet cords for years and years and walked into the store yesterday to see that they were sold out.

coulda sworn I saw Rors using a Velvet CORD yesterday?! You are right that he was using TVs for a while (and maybe still is if I'm wrong about the cords?!)

I never thought Rory would give up the NDMC grips. Maybe he's showing his inner tiger fan. Corded grips and tensei whit shaft.

Or he got tired of having to replace them after every tournament. I liked the NDMC grips, but they didn't last at all.

He has a 48 now too, mentioned he switched to a 4 wedge setup for the Canadian, dropped the 3 iron to make way. Bag setup has changed quite a bit since The Players.

Correct. Right now his iron/wedge setup is P750 4 iron, P730 5-9, MG Raw 48 then Hi Toe 52, 56 and 60.

Interesting information on Sky Sports Golf The Open preview regarding Rory's wedge game setup and the work he is doing. As noted he now has a 4 wedge setup so with those 4 wedges he has 3 shots (half, three-quarter and full) for each so he has 12 different yardages dialled in.

After dropping the 3 iron it's been confirmed that he has strengthened his 4 iron to basically a 3.5 iron.

I thought the new PW at Canada was a Hi Toe vs his normal milled grind

how much does Rory have his tensei white tipped in his driver? If his 5 wood is 2” shouldn’t his driver be tipped 1”? Then 3 wood 1.5”?

It’s the titanium 5 wood that goes forever. 3 would comes in and out of that bag along side the UDI.

What I find odd is 7.0 in all irons.. but 6.5 in UDI.

Could be a shaft weight thing... 7.0 are ~135g. That's pretty beastly to swing at 39.5 - 40''.

 

Also, I guess I take back him not being good with the Spider... I think he played very well with it this year.

Yeah it could be a weight thing for sure with the added length. He used to have a black HZRDUS 105. Shaft could be hard stepped as well to make up added stiffness for the weight. Who knows... maybe Greg?

is it crazy to say that tm wedges are super gimmick. Like why not just have a fully rusted wedge or why do u need all of the extra grooves. Maybe im just to traditional and not likley to change my vokeys but I just cant get over TM wedges
