Directed Force/LAB Golf Blade

A couple years ago I saw some pics on here of the LAB Blade from Directed Force. I love the tech in their Reno putter, but just can't seem to get over the shape. When I saw there was a blade on the way, I was super excited. I haven't seen anything yet, but they posted a message on their FB page about a big announcement of a blade soon. If its what I think it is, I want it, like yesterday!

Any reviews out yet on the BLāD.1 and the new pressgrip? Love the Reno had it for almost 3 years and is the best putter I`ve ever used. However I`m intrigued by the BLāD.1.

Welp - I ordered one.

 

I had both versions of the mallet, and just found it too distracting.

 

I am hoping this one fits my eye better. I don't love the brass finish, but perhaps they'll offer another finish soon.

Maybe the Reno, but there’s nothing VAS about a center shafted blade.

I've had about 6 rounds with the blade.

 

I always considered myself a good putter. Rarely get over 30 putts. Distance control is the best part of my green play, people always tell me how pure I roll the ball. Still, I am not a great green reader, and I miss a few makeable putts, specially around 10 feet.

 

My former putter was a Bettinardi BB29. The LAB putter feels heavier, and the ball comes softer of the face, first round I left many putts short.

 

After getting used to the speed, I am sold on the performance. The ball goes where I aim, and the occasional pull/push on shorter/pressure putts seems gone.

 

The putter is not really good looking, in fact most people think is an old cheap putter. The feel is nice, although not great. The price seems high, I can see people not even trying it at that price point, but I guess the company knows more than me about that.

 

All in all, I woul rate or a 10 on performance, a 6.5 on feel, and a 3.5 on looks.

Would be really interesting to know if it is holding the face angle like the Reno 2.1 or if it is less stable.

Also difference headweight brass and Steel. Brass is heavier.

No - but that's more a function of my putter obsessive disorder rather than the putter. I am holding onto it.

 

I really roll pretty well with it.

I have been using the Reno putter for over 2 years now.

It would be great to see a review comparing the Reno to the Blade!!

I got to try out the blade against the mallet with a directed force rep today. I came in wanting the blade but came out purchasing the mallet.

 

The stainless steel blade felt better than the mallet but I found the mallet to be easier to aim (subjective), my stroke was much smoother and I rolled the ball better.

 

Again, I wanted to love the blade but the performance of the mallet was too good to ignore.

 

If you have a rep in your area I would suggest meeting with them and trying it out.

Yes, performance of the Reno mallet is very hard to beat.

This. I found a video on a you Tube where a SeeMore FGP rotates and flipped around in their Revealer. I always thought that the SeeMore was face balanced at 70* aka Lie Angle Balanced?

Rolled the Blad 1 yesterday and have to say I was really surprised. The face felt incredibly stable and can honestly say I was rolling it on my start line more consistently than my current gamer... seriously considering picking one of these up.

Just ordered one of the B.2 putters as I have been intrigued by the DF putters. I haven't rolled a B.2 as of yet, but did get a chance to roll one of the 2.1 models and it was enough to take the leap of faith. Unfortunately I did a remote fitting, keeping fingers crosses that I like it.

As I'm doing more research and just looking at the putters in general I love the look of the blade but I feel the forgiveness of the mallet cannot be beat.

I wish there were more outlets that had the putters available to try out, not sure if that is part of the marketing strategy or just more of a result of still being a small company having to custom fit all of their putters. I would assume the mallet has more forgiveness but it would of been nice to roll each of them side by side. I liked rolling the 2.1 when I tried it out, but I have always been a blade user vs mallet in my past so I thought I would give the Blad2 a shot first since I am more comfortable with that style. There were not any videos on line on the Blad2 which I thought was a little surprising, I wonder how many they have sold.

The DF2.1 is the first putter that I am closed at impact with. I tested dozens and I have over 10.000 puts on my Skypro, always positive 0.3 to 1.5 degrees. Problem is the Lab golf Blad1 is also among those. If you really want a putter that swigs different you need the DF 2.1, not the mallet.
