I was able to hit these on the range, a guy next to me has them. He said he ordered his from overseas and it was a few years ago. But they are extremely great feeling. We’re they ever a USA product?

Nope. The Legacy series was never available stateside.

Picked mine up on eBay right after the '16 Open Championship on a whim. Nothing can kick them out of the bag. They took over the spot for the AP2s I had bought earlier in the spring and bought some new Callaway later thinking those were it, and went back to the Legacy Blacks (in fairness, the shafts on the Callaways were wrong for me). Bought another set from a wrxer so I have extra heads if I want to change shafts or whatever. Have quit looking at irons . . . . . kind of. ;-) Luckily the sets I ordered were from USA sellers, but most eBay sets come via Japan.

Garsen MAX grip is a big factor contributing to Stenson's British Open win. It's not just "another grip", it's one requiring a specific technique, and that has helped Stenson.

They don't. I have searched thoroughly.

 

They are my favorite grips ever, and currently on my irons. I have about 6-7 dead stock left and will rue the day I run out.

I was thinking maybe it was something they did custom just for him or off the euro tour. I love it though. I heard a rumor there might be a custom option next year a little like you can do on the LAPG site.

In 2016, he was forced to change into a backup version of the club due to wear and tear. He then had to give up that backup in 2017 for the same reason but stuck with the same model.

 

Finally, while playing on the European Tour in his most recent start, Stenson had to give up on the club altogether. On the Wednesday before the 2019 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England, Stenson noticed the face of his newest Callaway Diablo Octane Tour 3-wood had caved in, and that it was no longer playable.

 

Seeing the writing on the wall, Stenson put the Diablo Octane Tour into retirement.

 

“I knew long before I gave up on it that the new technology was better and more efficient,” Stenson said Tuesday. “When the other one broke in 2017, in February, I was out at a tournament in Dubai and I had to put [a new fairway wood] in; that thing that I put in for that week was much hotter.”

 

For Stenson, despite knowing that newer technology may produce greater distance or forgiveness, the familiarity he had with the older model was more important.

 

“If you’re standing there on the 72nd hole and you’ve got to hit a shot to position yourself to win the tournament, you don’t want to have something you picked up two days ago,” Stenson said. “You want to have something you hit 5,000 shots with.”

PX shafts are Grafalloy which is his old Blue shaft. My guess is it’s exactly the same but with a HRZDUS logo.

Is a glued hosel Epic Flash 3-wood a common thing on tour? I haven't seen that before this.

I'd say they are not uncommon. You see them a fair bit in the photos on here (and on eBay).

Pretty rare . Couple pics attached of one I’ve hit and it’s still hanging locally to me . Notice no stated loft. Entirely different head size and shape than retail. And all I’ve seen appear to be around 12 degrees. The one I hit came from the truck at the bmw pro am , and had a Gen V speeder in it. Let’s just say it’s a grown mans club. I simply don’t need a 3 wood that would be that long and that low. It was nuts how low it launched.

I’m legit worried about him then. The epic isn’t special and sounds much different than the Dot 3 wood. I’d suggest he look at something from Tour edge exotics.

I was lucky enough to find a brand new box of 150 of these last year. They were left in an old warehouse that was recently leased out. I gave the guy $200 for the box, he was happy and so was I.

That's not even $2 a grip! My 3w is the last club in my bag with a tour wrap cord on it. I don't think it has many days left. 13 years old the grip is.
