I wonder how many sets of the Legacy irons he's gone through and how many sets he has in his closet. These look fairly new.

I bet he could find a replacement Diablo 3 wood on the bay. haha.

i've seen quite a few youtube videos of the callaway tour truck and every single time they open a special drawer with a backup set of henrik's irons. i imagine he will be able to play those as long as he wants too.

i stumble upon a youtube clip from golf channel where they were talking to stenson as he was hitting his old 3 wood and he said the trampoline effect can be more significant on a 3 wood and that the tour doesn't test 3 woods like they do drivers. so he basically admitted what everone already knew, that the octane with super hot.

Fairway woods (and all other clubs except driver) are still subject to the maximum COR of .830 - When the DOT was released (2011) it was not a very hot faced club to start with. I doubt Stensons DOT ever reached that high of a COR due to face fatigue.

Maybe a grip for a wedge?

Putter grips, such as Stenson's Garsen MAX, are permitted by the Rules to have unique shapes and profiles.

The Rules for non putter club grips are more restrictive. My guess is that this photo is of a wedge grip Stenson is using that has a shape-profile which conforms to the Rules, but gives him a little help overcoming chipping chips.

Just a guess, that's all.

it's a practice club, lots of Pete Cowen students have them, often done with the 2 thumb grip installed at an angle, helps work on backswing set among other things.

Have been using one myself for the past couple months and am impressed with how well it keeps the elbows tucked. Took a while to get used to though.

Big fan of the 3+ SZ in lieu of driver as well.

I imagine when first trying a Garsen MAX the majority of players immediately dismiss it as being "too weird", and they refuse to give it a chance.

But if someone uses the grip for 15 minutes on a putting green I think they will likely start to understand that the thumbs to the side technique (including the resulting naturally relaxed shoulders and arms) is a good thing that might truly lead to better putting. Worked for Stenson !

Exactly! One of my buddies held my putter the other day and said "you put your grip on upside down" and I had to explain to him what the Garsen is meant to do. He got it after a few minutes of testing it. I originally ordered the G-pro Edge but was too used to a SS 3 Slim so it didn't feel great.

And yes, it's on my #7 -- was inspired by Stenson's 2016 set up. I honestly had no clue he was still using it.

I actually really like the size and touch-feel of the rubber Garsen Edge. I have it on a few putters but don't like the heavier weight of the Edge, because it seems to throw off the balance of my putter a bit. But the weight of the MAX provides a putter balance I really like, so I mostly putt with my MAX griped putters. Every dozen rounds or so I try an Edge gripped putter, but then go back to the MAX for the next round.

The Garsen MAX weighs about 50 grams, and the Edge weighs about 77. To me the heavy weight of the Edge seems to make it a counter balance grip, which might be good if a player is using a heavy head putter.

Makes sense-- I actually haven't used the EFSZ 3, have tried the driver out a bit and like it a lot. I mostly use my Rogue SZ 3+ off the tee and rarely hit driver anymore since it's a consistent fairway finder with 240+. Can obviously get 30 or more yds with driver but it doesn't have close to the same consistency.

I'll take another wedge or a 16* in the bag for distance gapping and ditch driver entirely next year.
