No one in the top 30.

Hopefully can get a better week in the coming years.

Stenson has played this course well in the past too.

hmmmm is it worth going up to watch?

Friday seems a right off with the weather, then its cold for the weekend. The colder days will be the best watching days but.....

BJERREGAARD is by far my favorite player that is there.

Last year the Houston Open had a SoF of 300 with first place points of 24. It was a solid middle range tournament.

This year, it is 74/24 just a couple of points lower than the John Deere Classic.

As far as I can tell, this is the worst field in the OWGR era

The Golf Club of Houston will host again a par 72 of 7441 yards.

No problem with the purse, it is $7,500,000. $500,000 more than this week's Italian Open that has its strongest field ever.

Defending Champion: Ian Poulter is it Italy. No Ryder Cup points are awarded for the Euros in Houston this week, but still a few are playing.

Haymon

Soft, huh? That's interesting considering we've had really good weather the last week or so. I wonder how the rough will play, bermuda vs rye plays quite a bit different.

Got to feel for the organisers this year. They have been handed a really poor slot in the schedule. Watched some of it last night but there wasn’t a huge amount to pique the interest when you combined it with the usual mediocre coverage.

Disappointing field this year but having listened to Butch Harmon's interview during coverage in round 1 its sound like they (Astros Foundation) have big plans for this event. Also the forthcoming venue from next year had re-design input by Brooks so hopefully he will play.

Poulter misses cut in Italy after passing on defending @ Houston.

The simple solution would be to switch it with the Sanderson Farms. Too hot in mid September, but it gets it away from the Asian swing. Next year that would put it the week before the Ryder Cup.

Most people have to work during the weekday. I expect there will be better attendance this weekend especially since the weather has cooled off considerably.

Yeah, but most people have to work during the weekday at every other venue too, so it's not just that.

Weather was garbage for part of the day yesterday. A front blew through with a bunch of rain and wind and it dropped temps 15 deg or so.

I took my family out (wife, 3 kids) Saturday and we had an awesome time. We followed the lead group half the day and we could stand or sit anywhere we wanted on any hole. Bonus when Malnati handed my son a scuffed ball he'd had to hit against a stick as we were standing next to him. Also, it was kind of nice to see the non-elite players get a chance to sneak in a win that would be pretty major for them. The crummy weather has definitely depressed turnout as it's went from 95 to 58 like overnight.

Great call after 54 holes.

With that said it's crazy the winner of this event gets the full 500 fedex points (just 100 less than the Masters)..The PGA still needs to do some tweeking on the fedex point calculations. Too bad they can't tie it into SOF.
