Oldest Club in the Bag?

I sometimes wish PING would do a short term reissue of these with a standard hosel. They were forgiving and long. Probably the only PING fairway wood I could hit with any consistency...

Sometimes I game very old putters so those don’t count. My three metal is a 2004 TEE CB 2, in my bag since new.

 

My brother still games his MP 30’s (2002), a founders club three metal, and a Tad Moore sand wedge, all older than sin and in his bag since new. His previous set of irons were Wilson FG17’s, new to him in the early 1980’s. At his current rate, he has three more years before he replaces his irons again. Maybe he will bag a hybrid eventually.

Ping My Day i think its from about 1970 always finds its way back into the bag. Sent into Ping last year for a fresher up just something about the head shape that just works for me

Your brother is awesome. A Tad Moore wedge? That's freakin' cool. I had a set of FG17s, so I understand why he continues to play them. The old lofts still work...

I don't really count old putters, as lots of players use putters that are really old. Mine is an 80s era Anser.

 

So my oldest clubs are my wedges and they are 90s era Cleveland 588s. I can still find them in decent shape in the used market so keep playing them - they're pretty much as good as anything modern.

 

My newest club is from 2015, the next newest is from 2014 (driver), the rest are from the early/mid 2000s.

Oddly enough the oldest club in my bag is the Cobra King Oversize 3-4 hybrid. I love the smallish fairway wood look to it as it gives me confidence. Set at 20.5 degrees it gives me a consistent 205 yards on average. This club has been in my bag for over 2 years & must be some kind of record for a club hoe like me. Tried replacing it but it always finds it's way back into my bag. I even bought a spare in case something happens to this one.

 

Also the progression in lofts & looks from my Ping G410 5 wood to the Cobra King OS 3-4 hybrid to the Cobra F9 24 degree 5 hybrid is perfect.

My oldest club is my Cobra Baffler T Rail. I bought it new in 2012 and it has been in the bag since. I am always confident when I hit the hybrid. Probably better clubs out there, but it is hard to replace confidence over the ball.

Newport Pro Platinum putter from '99? Bought it off the bay in 2005-7? and it was beat up. Buffed out the gouges, removed the nickle coating and now she is a beaut.

 

It replaced my Anser 3 from 92-95?
