I just tried listening to the Bogey Golf podcast, Cheating in Sports, I thought it was very condescending.

From what I've seen on the forums, a post in the nature of stating that Mexicans have a lower quality of life compared to Americans would be removed.

I've seen many posts over the years from say a person from NYC, SoCal, or Bay Area, pointing out the same about a person from Alabama, Mississippi, Florida removed.

Not a welcome addition to the Podcast roster. I wish I could remove both it and the 19th Hole.

As a society we are too easily offended these days. I find Bogey Golf crude for the purpose of being crude and I wish that I could just pick the WRX podcasts I like/ There are a few I do not listen to. Typically bogey golf and the 19th hole are skips. That being said. Mondays off this week was almost impossible to hear. I had the volume maxed out and could barely hear it. I don't know why that is as I am far from any kind of audio visual expert. I would suggest some kind of sound check if that is possible. Again, I have no idea how it works. the two best podcast are Mondays off and TG2 though.

Well, the new editor won't let me format the text in quotes, so bear with me.

"As a society, we are too easily offended these days. I find Bogey Golf crude for the purpose of being crude and I wish that I could just pick the WRX podcasts I like[.]"

I couldn't agree more with this. People are too easily offended, but being crude and obnoxious for the purpose of being crude and obnoxious is worthless. Larry may be a great guy, but he does not make a great, or even serviceable, podcast. I also wish that we could pick and choose which podcasts to subscribe to as I, too, only listen to a few. TG2 and Monday's Off are the only two I listen to.

Also, on a somewhat related note, I find it very silly that no politics are allowed in the GolfWRX forums (of which I am totally in favor) but GolfWRX hosts the 19th Hole Podcast. Now, I've only listened to two episodes of the 19th Hole because I can't stand it, but in each of the episodes I subjected myself to, there were clear political statements and/or topics devoted to political issues.

Correct, I do as well. It just rubs me wrong when I hear say they are offended. It is just too easy of a word. Kinda like hearing "its not fair". I do not like that either. Needless to say I am currently not a fan of bogey golf. It is not meeting its premise. Golf talk about your every day mid/high handicap and their struggle to improve. That is the premise as I understand it. We already have a two guys talking golf. Bogey golf seems so far to just be another version of that just including the F word.

I don't want to sit here and critique what others are doing. they are putting in time to do this and I wish them success. just keep it classy San Diego.

I'll echo the technical issue about sound volume. I tried to listen to several new podcasts from the last few weeks including one with a phone interview - I think it's the equipment podcasts - and I couldnt hear a thing with my phone volume on max.

Also I will echo the sentiment that the bogey golf podcast is terrible. The podcaster needs to have some sort of knowledge level and some basic foundation of podcasting to be reputable enough to be worth listening to. I'm not saying they need to be an audio wizard technician or a golf expert - but saying things on the air during the podcast like "i have no idea what I'm doing" or "I dont know what im doing here" or "I know nothing about XYZ or why I'm even talking about this, but...." is just cringeworthy - they shouldn't sound like they are that clueless and self-proclaimed useless.

Monday’s off- great podcast: sounds like “my group of ppl” having a conversation.. Awesome job, best around.

TG2- great to good podcast: sounds like “my group of ppl” having a conversation.. awesome job, a very close 2nd place.

Gear dive- Good podcast: It’s a fun podcast and the host is becoming cooler since he stop talking about himself as much.

The above are very fun and easy to listen to. Best podcasts around compared to other golf podcast and are the strength of the wrx podcast. Only complaint is the curse words. since I have children in the car, I am limited to listening on my commutes alone.

I appreciate the feedback on the podcast. I will continue to work to make the podcast less terrible:) I do understand that the F word is something that I should eliminate from my vocabulary. Until recently I didn't realize how much I said it. I went back and counted the last episode and between Pat and I it was over 30 times. That is unacceptable. I will not use it in the podcast moving forward and will edit it out if it happens. I can honestly say that I don't say things just to be crude. It is also not my goal to be offensive or make the audience feel uncomfortable. I truly appreciate that you all took the time to give me feedback and will use it to make the podcast better. I hope that you will give the podcast another chance but if not I understand. I know my humor isn't for everyone. The point of the podcast is to be informative so if I don't know about a subject I work to get an expert on to explain it. That was the purpose of the podcast on shafts. As a bogey golfer I'm not an expert on anything except shanking drives and missing short putts!

That said what topics would you like covered?

The occasional bomb is not a big deal. We can thicken our skin. It is just when it becomes a filler like saying "um" I get annoyed by it a bit. But, thank you for accepting the criticism and working to improve!!

I think Pat needs a microphone, his voice is a lot softer than yours so it's hard settling on the volume level.

I have a few ideas for topics. This past year my cousin has taken up the game and he's had lots of questions on what most people may think are trivial like putting a bag together, not just the clubs, what goes in the bag, what to do at the range, before a round, at the course, walking vs pushing vs riding, what to do if someone hits into you, you hit the ball 2 fairways over etc. I think a series like this would be very helpful for adult beginners and would help grow the game.

I too was a golfer who started late and was lost at first with no one to guide me on. there was some helpful things that I learn from wrx that can be covered like:

Lessons from an instructor vs self diagnosted YouTube- attempted at the swing.

how to choose an instructor

interview with Monte or iTeach Dan- wrx respected instructors @MonteScheinblum @iteachgolf

in-person lesson vs online lesson vs clinics vs online memberships

saving money when grinding- $15 buckets vs monthly payments for the range

how to balance golf with a wife who doesn't golf or new born in the family.

how to find the right amount of grip tape and the difference it makes

best rain / cold weather golf gear- interview with @chris975d

golf sneaker heads - interview with @Lesmond

DIY driver fitting/ tee height @Howard Jones

and much more, there's information gold on wrx.

Knudson - I meant to post this last week, but we need to see a pic of the garage of the house for sale

To the newest putter podcast - the intro was fine, but the audio levels were way too quiet/distant for the actual interview. I couldn't listen to it and had to turn it off. Maybe it'll be better using headphones, but the sound would distort too much when I tried to up the volume in my car

Serious question: Doesn’t someone listen to the audio levels before “releasing” the podcasts? My audio/video production skills are limited to a few classes in college and as a former public access wrestler/promoter (Whole different story) but I have spent some time in editing bays.

It seems like there are always sound issues with the WRX podcasts. I am not sure about the new flatstick podcast. It seems too redundant.

I will take the blame on some of the recent audio issues. I didn't realize that the new version of Garage Band really doesn't do any favors with its preset levels and other options. Before I "set it and forgot it" and that burned me with the new version. I will make sure everyone makes a better effort to monitor that before the show goes out.

Thank you all for letting us know!
