Are Scotty Cameron Putters really worth the money?

I've played with a few scotty putters and man do they feel amazing. Of course you can spend less to get a good putter, but this isn't a cheap sport. I'd go with the best and of course the name brand.

Scotty is far from the only choice of good putter manufacturers.

I've played Scotty Cameron's for years as well as tried and/or gamed other major brands. As for milled putters, they are def. some of the thee best however putter's are very individual. Game whatever fits your eye/stroke and gets the ball in the hole with the least amount of strokes consistently.

This is such a silly topic. Worth is totally up to the individual and almost everyone is going to value certain items differently. If they are worth it to you personally play them, if they aren't, don't.

I’m a Scotty guy for life. I’ve tried a lot of brands. But never like the feel of any of it. I know feel is subjective. But Scotty just feels better to me. That’s just my opinion. You don’t need to spend a ton on Scotty either. I look out for beat up Scotty putters and have them refinished. It’s like having a brand new putter. And it doesn’t cost a arm and a leg buying full retail price or used.

Worth is totally dependent on the individual. I have a Newport 2 and think it was worth every penny. I love the look and feel of it a d have never putted better.

 

If you like the look a d feel of them and can afford it then yeah it's worth it. If buying one is going to break the bank then no it's not worth it.

In my youth I was an incredible putter...Crenshaw-like with the blade.

 

A few years ago, it just seemed to go away, and I have struggled for the last 15 years, trying multiple Scotty’s as I always loved the look and the feel.

 

Picked up the T22 Terylium in a Newport and Newport 2.

 

Gaming the Newport, and the stroke and consistency have returned.

 

So I would say, while expensive, definitely worth it to me.

I think many of the older ones are

Gun blue or oil cam Newports, Mil spec, studio stainless NP2 350, 2008 select to name just a few

 

the new ones with inserts? Not so much, not even a little interested

 

But I hear he's going back to solid for the next line

Well my Newport 2.5 was great for a couple seasons but now I like my odyssey 7 better. So yeah it was worth it at the time but when it came time to shop I didn’t necessarily run to get a Scotty, I just chose what I felt was helping me roll it better.

1,000th thread with same topic. My suggestion, if you like the look and feel and can afford it (i.e., throw away money) buy it and dont worry about the brand name.
