Original Titleist Scotty Cord Grip Replacements/Alternatives

Skipperation

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know of any easily available alternatives that are cord and a similar shape to replace the original Scotty Cord putter grips?

Any of the Scotty grips seem to go for crazy money and other cord grips are only available in midsize or jumbo. I am currently using Golf Pride Tour Traditions which are great with a similar shape but I'd like something like the Scotty cords that are slightly firmer and cord but with the same shape.

Any thoughts/help?!

Cheers

I'm right there with you on trying to track down some extra cord putter grips from Scotty. Can't stand how bulky the new grips he's putting out are.

Never had a titleist cord grip. But really like the ping pp58 cord grip. Its midsize so probably bigger then the titleist grip. Another to try is the lamkin deep etched cord grip.

Thanks for the replies.

Will keep my eyes peeled for the Grey Pings but I'm in the UK and the only ones I can find are selling in Japan so will be stung with imported charges making them as expensive as some of the Scotty ones!

I really don't understand why the grip companys discontinue some of their most popular grips and then replace them with something completely different, happens with shafts too. I'm concerned the Tour Tradition is going that way with the introduction of the 'Pro-Only', the Red version looks to be a similar shape but is 20g (!) heavier. The V55, Victory Cord, Lamkin Sof-Cord cord reminder grips that are so hard to find these days etc etc all examples ad we all see that the guys on tour are still able to get hold of them!

Anyway, any other suggestions welcome!

There’s a guy on “scotty Cameron buy/sell” page on Facebook that sells the scotty Cameron cord grips from the custom shop. I’ve bought two of them. I can give you his name if you want? $63 he charges> @Scotty1140 said:

Yeah it is pricy but you don’t have to send your putter in at least

I think it's actually pretty reasonable for that grip?

Only available thru the CS and/or Gallery.

I was referring to the top black grip with 'Titleist' script rather than Scotty Cameron one. I have now managed to get hold of a black version of the red Scotty one through a friend in the US, but it was expensive.

I have one of the red cords on another Studio Stainless and although nice, it is slightly different to the 'Ttileist' one in that the butt is thicker and the grip overall feels slightly bigger.

My initial question was more about if there were any other grips on the market that are similar to the 'Titleist' one?

there was a no-cord version of the Titleist full cord. they sell for a pretty penny though.

It be easiest to find a Chinese manufacturer to make you 5k of them for nothing and then just make sure they alter the design slightly so you don't go to jail... and as far as getting them here you need to find a local importer and get your sources connected and the merch stashed in transport they already have lined up

Assuming you are open to a non-cord grip, i found a non-cord Titleist grip and compared to two other grips i had laying around and can be found fairly easily. the odyssey is quite different, but the taylor made red cap is actually not too far off. I would say the Titleist grip is more of a soft u shape, whereas the Taylor Made is ever so slightly more sharp U (sort of like if you added a little more V to the U). What is interesting in the cords line up pretty close on the two grips.
