Just wanted to see how long a Bridgestone B XS could last.

As of today, we are at 122 holes. Tomorrow, 18 more and so on, day after day, until I lose it.

Have you noticed any changes in flight or spin characteristics whilst playing? I love my B XS partly due to the durability. It's such a good ball.

I love my Tour BX. It is extremely durable! Never saw such a great performance in a golf ball!

I have not. I'm doing this test completely by chance. A friend at the course knew I played the B XS and he gave me one he found with this unusual logo. That is probably why I first noticed I had it in play for so long, My playing partners yesterday all commented that the ball has not lost any distance, as I hit some fairly decent drives with it that were near the upper end of my range. Performance around the greens and putting seem to be completely acceptable, even as we passed 100 holes of play.

As soon as the cover becomes damaged or the ball flight/performance erodes, I will take the ball out of play (assuming I do not lose it first).

I will post more pictures after the round today, and I'll even give it a good washing in the ball scrubber after the round so we can see more clearly if any damage has occurred.

I always play every ball until it is lost. (Pro V1 or Pro V1x) I would only remove it if it were significantly gouged. A cart path scrape isn’t even enough to remove it. I have seen no difference in a ball’s performance in the condition you have pictured.

Well B XS fans, we are now at 140 holes and it is starting to show some wear. I can't say the performance is dropping because it played all 18 fine today. The aftermarket logo is starting to give way and there is one very small micro-ding on the top of the ball.

We'll see how it does on the next rounds, which will be tomorrow or Thursday.

The dream is over. Got in 149 holes and then on the opening hole today hit it just off the fairway into a HUGE patch of fallen leaves.

To be honest, it was just about time to retire it. It developed just a tiny little nick from when I hit a tree around hole 128. I don't think it impacted ball flight, but the ball didn't look so good after that tree wacking!

Final photo of the ball.starting the 150 hole, just seconds before it was lost forever!

I agree. My one and only complaint with the Bridgestone Tour B XS is the outermost layer of white paint sometimes gets a little flaky and chips off, but this is purely cosmetic and I do not think it has any significant impact on performance. But, the overall durability of the ball in terms of scuff and cut resistance seems pretty high to me. It's amazing a ball that durable also spins and sticks to greens so well.

Loyal Tour B RX user, love the ball but I don't find them particularly resistant to scuffs and scratches, I have a bag full of scuffed up RXs that I practice chipping with.

Performance and price is a massive positive for me with this ball. I picked up 2 boxes for £58, compared with 2 boxes for £90 for Pro V1 and V1x. I won some V1x this year and the XS I was using all season was a way better all rounder.

Early this year I won a box of the XS and left them on the shelf for a while. I was never a Bridgestone fan till I was running short on balls and put these in play. What shocked me was how good it was as an all around ball yet gave such a soft feel. Great ball

  • 1 month later...

Not a Bridgestone B XS, but a good follow-up.

How long can you use a golf ball before noticing a performance drop-off? We have your answerhttps://www.golf.com/gear/balls/2019/06/27/golf-ball-performance-drop-off/?fbclid=IwAR1afTlD7G2CdrwmJFRvVY6uhQRYyf-B54DKzx3NIi9WdkzhSIXkSn-hjHA

Some old guy will likely find it and play who knows how many holes with it before he loses it. It's not quite finished yet.
