Thanks to another post, I know face milling is ~$40. About how much is adding a sight dot/line and tungsten plugs through WRX? Looking at going full custom and trying to get a feel for the total cost...

 

Also, does anyone have information on what finishes are offered? Base putter is a Manganese Bronze Anser. Thanks!

Bumping this thread with a couple of Tour Issue Ansers. The Milled was definitely used in the 2012 Open Championship and possibly also in that year's US Open - the player made the cut in both. The Redwood was made for a charismatic European Ryder Cup star and later passed to a European tour rookie.

That is a stunning putter I love everything about it! How were you able to get it?

Ping is starting their PLD custom program, talk with your local Ping Rep. the requirements though is you have to go to the facility in Phoenix to get fit. There is a higher cost to the putter as well.

Another bump for this thread.  I know there are a few PLD threads now for new customs (very exciting), but the old WRX / Jim Wells putters still deserve some love too!  Anyone got any JW pics to share? I recently added this to my collection, battle-scarred sole and all:

Love it!  Is there still the WRX shop working at Ping? Can one send in, say a ‘60’s Anser and have tungsten weight added to it along with shaft and grip? Or has everything gone PLD?

Morton still has WRX customizations on their website but the tungsten weights are a $549 service now -- oof

As the previous response said - yes, you can still do it, but it's *much* more expensive than it was a year or two ago.  I was quoted $800 for tungsten and milling on an old MgBrz putter.  I think it is fair to say that Ping isn't keen to do that sort of work on old putters anymore, which is a real shame.

Yet again I'm going to bump this thread with the most recent WRX (as opposed to PLD) I landed.   Anyone else got some older-school WRX Pings out there - please share if so!
