Had the round of my life this weekend.

Only 9 holes though. Just another "I shot thread" but I had to talk about it with people who can appreciate it. I shot 4-over 40. My previous personal best was 44, shot twice. I played in a 20 mph wind with rain and temps in the low 40's, but in spite of it I shot the best round Ive ever shot. Made 2 birdies, three pars, 2 bogeys, and 2 doubles. My driving was great, my iron play good enough, but the difference was my putting. I changed my setup and I felt so much better rolling the ball. I made several 6-8 footers.

It may have been my last round of golf this year, and could be the last round I play until at least next April, and if it was, what a way to end the year.

2 of them were between 11-15 to get me back to even. Clutch pars on 16 & 17 followed by a 15ft downhill birdie on 18. It was a terrific round. I had a blast

Awesome! How jacked were you after you saw the putt drop?

I made birdie on 18 to shoot my round of 40. Hit a nice 9 iron from 135ish and got a really nice kick straight at the pin. Ball rolled to within 3 feet and i knocked it in.

I was 4 over through three holes, couple of ugly double bogeys on 1 and 3. Even par for the final 6 holes, 2 bogeys, 2 pars, 2 birdies.

The greens were just done in the past 2 weeks so for the most part they were good but some it was like playing Plinko. I got up there (nervous) and hit a good putt. After hitting it I said to myself, "well I can't hit a better putt than that" It dropped and I was very excited. It was a great feeling. My scores/game have drastically improved since starting to walk. I actually hit the flag stick on one of the par 3s. ended up getting a big ricochet off of the pin and 2 putting from about 25 feet to save par. Had the potential to be a REALLY memorable round.

Thats great man nice job. Whats the winter season like for you? Are you about done for the season or do you live somewhere that you can play year round?

I live in Northeast Pennsylvania. The season is quickly shortening to an end. Within the next month i'm sure we will have some form of snow. Since we have the Poconos in our backyard I will transition from golfing to skiing. There will be days in Dec that I will ski in the morning and walk 9/18 holes around lunch. It all depends on weather. I'm fortunate that my local course never really closes so once they "close" they are still open for locals that walk.

What about you?

So there are times throughout the winter that you can still play? That sounds nice.

I live in Montana. Once the snow starts flying, i put the clubs away. Probably wont be playing any golf until late March at the earliest, and thats if we are lucky and get an early spring. The other morning when I left for work it was 5 degrees out. I am pretty envious of people who get to play golf year round.

The seasons are so weird here in PA. It was 30* when i left for work this morning, 75* last evening, high of 50* tomorrow... so weird. The elements have to work out right to play year round, but usually there is opportunity. There may be a few holes you can't play and you'll have to bundle up, but you can get out

Wow, your temps are all over the place. We have snow on the ground here now, and probably will until at least the middle of March.
