Heavy putters

Most definitely. All my putters have to have a head weight of 380g at a minimum before they feel "right" to me. For that, I usually have to go custom only, but in the past few years I've been able to get those head weights from Odyssey and now TaylorMade on the copper TP series through their interchangeable weight systems.

In my case, no.

Everyone is different, who putts with a natural stroke will benefit from using lighter heads (examples are most old players, tiger, fowler, spieth ecc...), who has more a "mechanical" stroke will prefer heavier heads.

In the past I tried an odyssey tank, but just didn't feel right, had like the feeling I couldn't manage clubhead...But need to say that I grew with 310-320gr heads.

I've been using a putter with a 450g head and 180g counterbalance since about 2004. Putting is one of the biggest strengths of my game the weight completely takes the hands out of the stroke.

I like heavier putters. Have always been a good putter. I don’t think natural or mechanical stroke has a thjng to do with it.

I have been adding weight to putters for years via lead tape or lead powder down the shaft. Not scientific, I know, but just makes me more comfortable. I am currently gaming a Ping Nome 405g putter with a standard shaft and old school pingman grip and love it.

I putt like crap with "regular" weight putter heads. I play a 33" TM daddy long legs that I've added a 25G weight to and some lead tape to 435g. I can actually make 5-10ft putts occasionally with it. I leave everything short with normal weight putters

I was at my Artisan fitting a couple weeks ago and was shocked at the weight I ended up being fit into.

Very interesting how weight effect pace etc.

Yes! I feel that the Heavy Putter was exactly what I needed at the time to get me from “figure 8” issues. Went from a Ping Anser to a Ping 1-A, then on to the Heavy Putter B3-M. Huge help for getting my putting in line and with the use of the eye line putting mirror, I dropped at least 5-7 shots a round, but it took a lot of practice.

Have played a heavier putter for a couple years now. Usually in the 375gr range. But have my first heavy blade putter. Am getting really comfortable with it. Long distance control has been really good. Still missing some short putts. But that's more me then the putter.

Yes! No question a heavy putter helps with keeping the putter on line. Love it for all putts, but really love it on short putts! I have used a HOG putter since 1995 and I'm 56 years old....single digit 5-8 cap during that period. I just wish I could find other putters that are as heavy as my Hog. Any suggestions?

I have a custom odyssey v-line fang that was coated to get to 385g, no sole weights, has a different slant than retail also, will not come from my bag unless something happens to it.
