Online Mental Game Coaching

Anyone have some experience working with someone remotely on their mental game? There seems to be an abundance of instructors working on swings online but was wondering if any coaches offered mental coaching online.

I'll coach your mental game St. Louis..... if you're worthy. Prob with coaching remotely is that there are so many subtle little nuances that players do while playing that stand out huge and the player has no idea they are even doing them, some are good and some are detrimental to their game. But there are lots of generalities one can strive for...

 

... actually want to coach the mental game to pros one day. So many need it and its the most important part of the game for players at the pro level. The #1000 player in the world's swing looks just as pretty and sound as top pros but what separates them..... not where their elbows are but their mental games.

I have taken lessons with Jim re his mental game stuff and it has been by far the most useful tool in my journey. I have improved from a 14 to a 5 in 2 years of working with him

 

 

Jim is curing people of the yips regularly, that is seen as the hardest problem to overcome in golf

 

Ppl should realise that and take note of all his detailed work on learning the game of golf

Very interesting subject to me. I’ve conquered several things through trial and error ( the hard way as it’s known). I’m not sure there is a easy way? Ill second that Jim is a wealth of knowledge and would be my first stop.

 

Things that bug me are self fulfilling prophecy and when to be aggressive and when not to be. If I say or think to myself “ made it 12 holes without a double today “. You can bet the farm I’ll make one in the next 2 holes. I have a 38 round streak going of a double bogey at least once, and I currently have a 72.4 scoring average. I’ve also tracked this and only 3 times in last 25 rounds has that double came because of a penalty shot. Meaning it’s not from hitting it out of play.

 

If there was a class to cure that I’d take it. Lol. But I don’t believe there is.

Yep. Probably so.

 

And yet I have no clue how to not think about it. I usually succeed for half the day. But at some point I’ll either say “ well there’s the double “ as it happens. Or “ made it 3/4 of the way with no double “. And then it comes. The first one is easier to take as it comes without me thinking about it first. So it’s not entirely self fulfilling. It’s part ADD of OCD or ODD. Lol.
