It seems like there are a lot of new forged irons being released - Wilson's, Lynx, PXG... is demand pushing this or are golf manufacturers making enough strides in forgiveness to coax high caps into blades or muscle cavities?

Posted this on the Japan equipment forum but here's some more information on the TC-201.

It's a variable cavity.

 

Also Zac Blair posted a video on his timeline that I tried to screenshot. I think the cavity is smaller than some of those pics look but the sole is still pretty decent sized. This is the 4i so the biggest cavity/sole.

They look like the 2007 Callaway X Forged to me

One is Miura branded the other Miura Giken. Could be identical but different numberings in different markets.

I love the look of these, and love the idea of a mixed set of 501 / 201.

 

That said, after taking my 1008's out yesterday - I may just have to wear the grooves out.

 

THAT said, I hit an old Ping G for the first time for a while the other day, and am sad to say I loved the feel of it as well.

 

Maybe I just like golf.

Great pics. Essentially, it's an updated, more forgiving version of the 1008 with a wider sole, more perimeter weighting, and a bit more offset. Definitely a lot better looking than the CB-301.
