ST190 questions

The Fuji Atmos 6 is not a cheap made for shaft. It has a softer profile by design and what you may be feeling is its higher torque. That makes it feel responsive vs boardy and a lot of people like it.

 

The Tour Spec is a stiffer lower torque version of the same profile. You can compare the stiffness readings for all of them on the Fujikura site. Really good site as it shows butt and tip flexes and you can dial it in as much as you want. I also found the standard Blue 6 stiff a little too responsive but it sure goes far and gets the ball up quick. The feel I like the best is the 7 stiff Tour Spec model. Still responsive but firmer.

I could see the 180s making that noise but not the 190. I was using a G30 before I got my ST190 and they make totally different sounds. The G30 is like a Scooby Doo lunchbox on a stick and the ST190 is just so solid sounding....UNLESS...I find that when I catch it more toward the heel, there's this high pitched, almost sound spike, that goes right into my brain..But only when I hit it there...

I played 9 holes today, no issues on the course. Sound was better with my AVX balls, maybe range balls were the issue. It still is a higher pitch than my Callaway drivers, but not bad. I know everyone hears differently, I was in no way knocking the driver it definitely performs well.
