Leupold Golf Rangefinders under a 2-Year Warranty Now?

Check the date on your sales slip. I’ll virtually guarantee that you were still in the warranty period. There have been no recent reports of free replacements for rangefinders that are out of warranty. Outside the warranty period Leupold is offering 60% off, not free.

I had a gx3 with the dimming LCD. They refuse to do anything except offer a discount off new. $220 for a 3i3. I looked up the 3i3 reviews and they were total junk. Same issue with dimming LCD, so Leupold has done nothing to fix the issue. No thanks.

I have a Leupold rangefinder, the red display was great but after about 2 years it goes away and you can't read your readings. I called Leupold, they told me it was out of warranty and they offered me a discount on a new one. After researching my issue, it looks like a lot of their rangefinders have the same problem. I'm thinking of filing a class action, my lawyer needs to get more similar cases. My model was a GX 4

I had a GX 3 that also had the faded display problem, and about three years ago I sent it in and they sent me a new GX 3i no charge.  I just wanted them to fix it.  Now my almost ten year old GX 1 is having a display issue.  I just emailed them and I’m waiting for a response.  The warranty is why I bought Leupold in the first place.  If they try that 60% nonsense I will tell them where to stick it and that will be the last product of theirs I buy.  Scopes rangefinders anything.  Don’t make junk and your warranty won’t be a problem.

Yep no more lifetime warranty.  I guess it doesn’t matter that when I bought it was a lifetime warranty.  Was offered the discounts prices as well.  No thanks.  Bushnell it is.  Good way to lose customers.

I bought a gx3i2 because I heard so many great things about Leupold and their warranty service, plus I had seen their glass quality in using their scopes and binoculars, and i loved that they were weatherproof. I bought it just for use in tournaments so I didn't accidentally use my slope function rangefinder. I barely used it, as I use my Bushnell 95% of the time. But the other day I brought out the Leupold, only to find I couldn't get a reading on a flag on a par 3. It didn't work on anything except targets under 50 yards. 

 

I send it in to Leupold, thinking it should be an easy process. I get an email back that it is not covered anymore, and they could send it back, or offered a discount. (they did not clarify how much of a discount) 

 

I am disappointed in Leupold. I barely used the leupold, and 350 days of the year it sat inside my house in it's case, so the fact that it stopped working was already annoying to me. My Bushnell has survived falling, getting jostled around, even getting dunked in scummy pond water by my 4 year old (still no issues with it!) but the leupold stopped working out of the blue. 

 

It probably goes without saying, but I will be sticking to Bushnell or another brand from now on.

Thankfully, Ive been really happy with my GX-3i. No issues for going on 8 years.

 

I will say I have been temped to check out other stuff, but she still runs just fine.
