For June, you can take shorts. And you don't need all the best gear, one of the lighter rain jackets and pants like Zero Restriction and you will be fine. I would take some thinlayer long sleeve UA or other.

You will want a light pullover if you play early mornings, but that is it - it may be off by 9am.

I will disagree with the previous poster and say you should get the best rain gear possible. There is nothing worse than being wet and cold. There are lots of good options available that won't break the bank, just make sure you get a GoreTex jacket and pants.

Just remember that this picture was taken during the Open, which is held in July. It's Scotland, you can get terrible weather in any month.

You have to bring everything!

The previous summer (2018) we were there for 15 days...had several days of temps in the upper 80s to almost 90 in St A.

But at Dornoch it was in the 50s...we were lucky, only 1 day of rain, but of course you can have rain every day.

Good rain suit & rain gloves are recommended

Even though I was disagreed with, I think a Zero Restriction is enough and is reasonable. I don't think you have to get GG or the like. Having lived in Ireland for many years and playing in Scotland, yes you can have lots of variation. But in the summer, you don't need the best of the best. You need layers with a good suit.

hmmm in 41 rounds of golf in Scotland this year, I wore shorts 5 times, rain jacket briefly about 5. I didn't play on raining days. I called off 4 comps due to cold/rain in May. In August I called off 2 comp days due to heavy rain/wind. I only golfed for 4 weeks in May and 6 weeks August/September.

Its Scotland and you can get almost any weather in one day never mind over a period of time. It's like anything; you might luck out or you wont.

Assuming you are playing links, then wind is the main factor.

My rain jacket is the Nike Aeroshield jacket and its perfectly sufficient. My dad goes all out and has the Galvin Green Gore Tex Archie jacket. I use and umbrella in the wind and had a good Nike one, my dad doesn't use an umbrella in the wind.

I would say just go a good jacket and umbrella, layer if cold, simple.

Look for closeouts of the previous year's models. SunIce makes pretty good stuff that usually isn't too expensive.

In June it can hail on you and it can be 70 in the same day. Like the other writer said, take everything. long underwear, beanie, Two pairs of waterproof shoes, hand warmers, neck gator or buff, extra golf balls, I would suggest a rain suit that is gore-tex, try ebay maybe you can get lucky and find a new one greatly discounted. Also, the gore-tex bucket hat by Galvin green keeps your head dry and the water from going down your neck and into your jacket. Having one of the newer waterproof golf bags is handy too.

I have not tried the gear before but in a recent Bandon thread alot of people said by ProQuip PX5 or PX6 gear. Everyone said to buy it from UK websites not the US site and you can get both jacket/pants for an excellent price. Seems like a lot of people really like the gear becuase it stretches and is quit when you swing. I have Adidas gore-text gear that is awesome but they dont make it anymore and it is not quit.
