Anyone else get forced to change their password

I suddenly could not log in and was forced by the site to change my password. A message to the effect "You must change your password likely due to any administrator changing your account information". This happen to anyone else/

I am sure a mod/admin would be able to change the email address - try one of them and hopefully they can.

Just happened to me and when I did the change, I just used my same password.....I t worked just fine.

Are you saying that if you change your email address you lose your account?

Yes. Just took place for me in the last few minutes. Have had the same password here since 2005 with ZERO issues logging in. This must be one of those robust new "improvements" promised in this awful Vanilla software. Just amazing.

The site forced a password reset today. The password reset is sent to the email address linked to the account and the old password. If you do not have access to the email address used to sign in to WRX, then you can’t receive the password reset, and you are locked out.

I feel like the changes to the site have caused me to use the site significantly less, which has deterred my internet golf addiction in ways I didnt know were possible. Thats how we make humans better again...to make everything so hard to use that we have to become humans.

So in reality, should your frustration be with WRX or with yourself for never updating your profile with a good email address? I mean, c’mon here...you had how long to do so?

We are investigating what occurred.

 

Please email [email protected] to change email addressed. Please do not reregister.

 

There currently is no rule to prevent reusing previous password.

This is the response from the ticket.

 

On Friday afternoon a vulnerability was reported in our embedded quotes. Our team immediately deployed patches to fix the leak, reset passwords, and terminated sessions for all potentially affected users.

 

An RCA will be sent out during business hours on Monday with complete information of what occurred and was patched.
