Casa de Campo

I played in an event at Casa de Campo last October and loved it so much that... I'm going back in April.  And I live in California.  For me it's somewhat painful to get to, but 100% worth it.  The first poster nailed it.  I too can't say enough good things about it.  Everything is spot on.  And at least the deals I have gotten are very reasonable (for what you get).  All-inclusive food, drinks, lodging, golf.  Fees for caddie yes but that too was totally worth it.  Ours in October was so great he has become a family member.

Didn't add up so cheap for us.

Our room total for 4 nights came out $2,000 (not all inclusive) , $275 (per player) for TotD, $250 for Dye Fore and $200 for the Links plus forecaddie is mandatory for TotD and Dye Fore.

Plus flights, food and drinks... grand total is around $6.000 to $7,000 for 4 nights and 5 days for two from New York.

But if you are a single player, not staying in the resort and just play TotD and Dye Fore, I'm sure there's a cheaper way to do it.

Just got back from Casa de Campo after 4 nights and 5 days.

First round was Teeth of the Dog at 12:15pm with an older couple from Florida who were both solid golfers.

The course was beautiful in great shape.

I was bit worried about the heat but 85F without humidity was actually very pleasant.

I shot 41/49 from Verde (tee between forward and white).

One too many Presidentes and Patron shots in the back 9.

Second round was Dye Fore which's 27 hole Chavon, Marina and Lagos.

We played Chavon-Marnia at 9:50am with a couple from Argentina.

Charlie was a bit hit or miss golfer and Florence was an excellent golfer.

I played well and shot 41/43 (8 pars, 1 triple bogey and 9 bogies).

Obviously less Presidentes and Patrons helped.

Personally Chavon was my favorite among 3 (Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and The Links).

Last round was The Links.

Supposedly the easiest among 3 and the least popular.

Tee to green might be easier than the others, but the greens were the hardest in my opinion.

Forecaddie isn't mandatory like Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore, but we took our caddie from the first two rounds.

Mike was great and we enjoyed his company.

I was mainly focusing on drinking and having fun so the scorecard portraited my sloppy game.

Only 1 par, lots of doubles and shot 48/51 from the white (blanco) tee.

Casa de Campo is EXPENSIVE.

We stayed at their cheapest room which was $406 per night.

But with their 25% taxes, the room was over $2,000 for four nights.

Food and beverage was expensive so we decided to add all inclusive third and fourth day.

$190 per person a day, $900 for two for two days after taxes.

Golf was not cheap, either.

Resort guest rate for Teeth of the Dog $275, Dye Fore $250, The Links $200 cart included.

Off property rate for Teeth of the Dog $515, Dye Fore $415 and the Links $315.

We wanted to replay Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore, but there was no replay rate.

Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore requires forecaddie which's $50 per cart and we added $100 for the tip.

I think only way to make a cheap trip to Casa de Campo is looking for their promotional deals (still there'll be hidden and additional charges), book airbnb/vrbo villas (not sure if Casa de Campo will allow private villa guest fee) or go during the off season which will be their summer.

Casa is nice, but those prices are CRAZY! Each time I’ve been it was on an all inclusive deal with golf included and it was around $300 - $400 a night per person.

Just got back from Casa.  My son said he wanted to go to an island for Spring Break so decided to go here as it offered beach but also some great golf for me.  It isn’t cheap but for me was worth it.

Played Teeth of the Dog + Dye Fore (Marina & Chavon).  Marina had some good views and Chavon kind of reminded me of the Dye Course at French Lick (which I really liked) but for my money I would probably only play Teeth of the Dog on future visits.
