Where to play near Leesburg FL? (or near Orlando area) Anyone want to play a round? (early December)

I'm heading down to Florida on a trip with my wife in early December, and I will have a day and a half with nothing but free time. I plan on playing twice, and I was hoping to get some course recommendations. If anyone has a recommendation and/or wants to play a round, let me know!

Arlington Ridge ain't bad, but it's not great.

Mission Inn - El Campeon is much better but it's a little pricier. If you want to play 36 in a day, that's a good bet since it has 36 holes (Las Colinas and El Campeon). Personally, I think Las Colinas is a crappy design, but you may enjoy it.

Deer Island is very good and shouldn't be busy. Although from the sounds of it they are re-doing some of their greens.

When in early Dec? I'm looking for a game on Mon, Dec 2nd?

But I guess you will be further up north - we will be in Celebration/Disney Area.

I'm with a family group down for the ESPN Invitational Basketball (Go Terps!) - but I'm the only golfer in the group.

Looking for a game on Sat Nov 30 also - thinking Cypress New Course/Disney Magnolia...probably just hit them up as a single and try to get paired up.

I second Mission inn - El campeon. Great layout and always in good conditions when I play there.

Definitley do the Cypress New Course. And hope for a bit of wind to add to the authenticity ?

Sounds like you are an expert! I am looking into the courses now, but I think I will end up playing El Campeon one of the days. I have one day where I have the whole day to myself, so I might make the drive to play Streamsong twice.

Streamsong is very expensive (you're probably looking at $300/round when all is said and done due to greens fees + caddie tip).

It's also a pretty long drive to get there.

If you're willing to drive that long, I would suggest looking at the following:

World Woods (36 holes and I actually think the Pine Barrens course is superior to any of the Streamsong courses in terms of design).

Juliette Falls (they usually don't overseed the rough this time of year)

RedTail

Orange County National (Panther Lake)

I like Streamsong, but I don't feel it's good enough to be priced at what it is (particularly with the long trip to get there) and there are a lot of people that come back from there with the same feeling.
