General question about Low Spin Driver

I have a steep over the top swing. I can hit a draw, fade, high, low,etc. I am a consistent player, fairly consistent in ball striking with the driver. I average about 250ish off the tee. Haven’t actually checked swing speed in years.

Are low spin drivers something I would notice a difference with? I have always had the weight back style driver. I currently have an F8 with the weight in the back (as opposed to draw area) with lead tape in the middle and back of the head to up the SW.

do you think a LOw Spin Driver would do anything positive for me? I know... go get fitted. I plan to, this is just a general inquiry

Depends on how steep you are. Being steep with driver is a real issue because you are constantly seeking lower spin due to increasing the spin loft from hitting down on the ball... yet you also need more launch, which is contrary to most low spin heads. I feel like only really high speed guys can get away with hitting down on the ball because they have so much ball speed, they don't need as much launch to get pretty good numbers. This is why Cameron Champ or Brooks can hit down 1 or 2 degrees and still get the ball out there. In fact, I'd wager they do this on purpose because they prefer hitting little squeeze cuts to find more fairways.

Like @Z1ggy16 says, it depends on how steep.

I'm not super steep but my natural shot shape with driver is now a pull fade so I'm adding loft and spin at impact. I ended up replacing my 10.5* heads with a 9* F9 turned down to better manage the spin. My personal situation is compounded by the fact that my miss is low on the face, so I add even more spin.
I definitely picked up some distance with the lower loft and spin and more or less got rid of the high, spinny, fade.

Before a swing change I was had a negative AA into the ball with the driver. I was fit into a m1 10.5 degree driver. Never hooked the ball. Miss was a high weak slice to the right. Now that I am more up on the ball with the driver I am in a LsT 410 9*, ball flight is pretty straight for the most part and can work it where I need to, and my miss is a low spin duck hook of if I get to quick.
