Only one: The 2014 Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I picked up tickets for my dad for Father's Day, and found out he was a huge Bernhard Langer fan back in the day, so it was cool for him to see guys like Langer, Mongomerie, and the rest of the crew he used to watch on Sundays while taking a nap.

I've attended the following (winners in parentheses):

1998 PGA Championship (Vijay Singh)

2002 WGC NEC Invitational (Craig Parry)

2009 Masters (Angel Cabrera)

2014 Boeing Classic (Senior Tour - Scott Dunlap)

2010 US Amateur (Peter Uhlien)

2017 Sahalee Players Championship (Sahith Theegala)

The last two were significant amateur events. The Sahalee Players Championship was entertaining. A buddy and I walked the last nine holes with the final group. There were no gallery ropes except around the tees, and we walked along in the fairway and talked to Mr. Theegala for several of the last holes. Try that at a professional event!

Buick Open (Multiple)

1996 US open practice round

2008 PGA Practice round

2017 Waste Management Saturday

2019 Masters Monday practice round

2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic practice round

Obviously, The Masters stands in its own category. Waste Management is a party that happens to have a PGA even occurring on the same site. The other 4 felt similar, even though 2 were majors. All very cool, and seeing the skill in person is so impressive.

1968-1976 American Golf Classic

1975 PGA Championship

1970-1992, 1995-2007, 2010-2014, 2010-2018 World Series/NEC/Bridgestone WGC

All at Firestone CC. Attended sporadically last 20 years, mostly there.

Highlights many, too many to list. Watching Lee Elder lose in a playoff to Jack at the AGC in '68. Walking the fairway with my dad, George Knudson during a practice round for the AGC. Meeting Arnold Palmer on the veranda with my dad during World Series of Golf (I gave him the wrong scores, lol. My Dad and I got a good laugh out of that when we realized it later). And my Akron Children's Hero son participating in the last Bridgestone TV promo and Arnie's March in 2018. Family Grand Finale to PGA tour golf there.

Grew up playing there too. What a great run of fond memories.

1996 Memorial and PGA

1998 (I think) Brickyard on the Senior Tour

probably 15 Phoenix Opens and 5ish Senior Tour Championships/Schwab Cups since 2001 to present

The Phoenix Opens vary in enjoyment for me, I’ll only go now for customer engagements with valet lot parking and clubhouse or tent passes. General Admission is a zoo and you have to really be ahead in order to actually see any golf. Thursday and Sunday are my favorite days to go.

The Masters (probably 12 times at least)

US Open (5 times; Oakmont twice, Olympic, Pebble Beach, Congressional)

PGA (Bellerive)

The Players (A lot)

Arnold Palmer Invitational (A lot)

Honda Classic (A lot)

WGCs (Firestone x5 or 6; Memphis x1)

Buick Open/Classic/Invitational (Torrey Pines twice, Westchester once, Warwick Hills(?) once).

Playoff event at Cherry Hills

Ryder Cup (Medinah)

Hopefully get some European events next year when we move.

Best one of those is The Masters. To me there’s no better experience. I’m the old man, you know get off my lawn, and at Augusta everyone is respectful, dressed appropriately, behaves as one should at a golf tournament. It’s a pleasant week for sure.

I have CGCS from GCSAA typically gets you into events free, plus I know/worked/schooled with a lot of those guys running the courses and wasn’t afraid to volunteer if needed.

I went to two IVB Classics (Outside Philadelphia) in the early seventies. Followed Jack, Billy Casper and Dave Marr. Met Chuck Bednarik in the gallery. He was a member at the course.

Went to a couple of Westchester Classics in the mid eighties. Mostly practice rounds. That was a good tournament because it was a week before the US Open and as the greens there were really fast, a lot of top players participated.

I forgot to mention the Canadian Skins game .. 2 X

Fun to see Nicklaus and Freddie play together ... and to see what a pompous d-bag Ray Floyd was in person

Looked it up .. 1993 ... I am old

Nick Price was the 4th FWIW, talk about crisp iron shots

I can still recall some shots that day. How much extra club Fred took at times and feathered shots in there. How high Floyd hit it

Nicklaus stretching and warming up, chunking his first SW on the range about 6 feet. He was a good sport about it
