CABO SAN LUCAS GOLF????

Recommended Posts

Will be there all next week for work staying at the Playa Del Grande. Work has set up golf at Cabo Del Sol, both the Ocean and Desert courses. I am going to try and play a couple more if I have time. Any suggestions or recent reviews on course conditions?

Well my work is paying for the Cabo Del Sol courses. I will be paying for wherever else I play, that's why I was looking for recent reviews.

Quivira is one of the funnest rounds I’ve played. Some quirky holes but the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the comfort stations are over the top. Diamanté was good but the “no pressure” presentation left a bad taste in my mouth. Late for tee time, aggravated that you’ve just been badgered for the last hour (of 3 hours total). Really cheapens a top notch development in my mind and definitely doesn’t give it an exclusive vibe that they’d like to have.

Good to hear that for sure. Thanks so far for the input guys and keep'm coming.

  • 4 months later...

I'm heading out to Cabo at the end of November for TG weekend and for those who have been;

What is the best way to get on Quivira if you aren't staying on a property? I'm staying a Secrets and I HAVE to play Quivira to compare it to Punta Espada in the DR, not to mention it's always been one of the courses I've wanted to play since I saw photos of the course.

I'm also planning to play the Ocean Course of Cabo Del Sol, it's closed right now but should be opening again the third week of November. Since I am staying at Secrets which is located on Puertos Los Cabos Golf Course, I'll be playing there.

Where else should I play? I should have room for one more round. I was thinking Palmilla, seems like that is a solid course from what everyone is saying. Any MUST PLAY recommendations?

Both the Ocean and Desert course are really nice at Cabo Del Sol, played them while staying at Playa Del Grande. Anyway our company attorney got us on at Diamante which was pretty nice and in great shape as well.

Is that the course that has the taco bars every 3 or 4 holes?

Very nice courses. I play them every year. Great views.

If it’s the course I’m thinking of. They had shrimp, beef, steak, or chicken. All you could eat and drink. It was awesome.

Puerto Los Cabos is a fun course that has the taco stops that were mentioned previously. They have 18 holes that rotate based on condition/need. The course goes through some hills so the elevation changes are fun. You start in the hills and work down and back to the ocean. We played a few times during a trip and loved it.

I agree. It's not a "top 100" course but it is fun and challenging. Well worth a day of your time.

Sweet, I was planning to play their twice, Cove Club (Cabo San Lucas Ocean Course) and one other one that I am unsure of.

My wife is pretty much 100% against sitting through any kind of timeshare presentation to play on Quivira and has pretty much continuously told me to bribe someone to get on the course, lol.

Having played Quivira and Cabo Del Sol Ocean course, I wouldn't ever waste my time going to Quivira ever again. I thought it was extremely overrated and a waste of a bunch of perfect oceanfront real estate given how much land it is on. Cabo Del Sol on the other hand is near perfection and up there with Kapalua Plantation and some of the Monterey courses as most fun/best I've ever played.

I agree. I play it almost every time I go to Cabo and love it more every time.

Has anyone played Querencia out there? I don't remember where I saw it but someone mentioned that it was a MUST play course and the experience is second to none, blah blah blah.

Also, is Cabo Del Sol worth the premium rate they are charging? $450 for the Ocean course and $240 for the Desert is the estimated price I received via phone. I'm not too interested in the Desert course, I love ocean side holes so that's really what I'm looking to play.

I can confirm that it will be going private. No exact date but they have limited tee times as it stands now. It’s reopened now as The Cove Club.

I decided that I am just going to play it as a bucket list item and not consider the cost since I will likely not be going back to Cabo any time soon. Thanks dude!
