G25 Driver shaft snapped in the trunk! Looking for advice

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to shafts, so I could use some help!

Long story short, I either need a new shaft for my g25, or a new driver. If I were to go the route of replacing the shaft, could anyone help recommend some shaft companies/models? I was using the stock stiff option and really liked it. I found these specs about it from another website:

The TFC 189D Stiff flex shaft has 4.8 degrees of torque, weighs 58 grams and launches at a mid angle. The TFC 189D Tour Stiff flex staff has 4.2 degrees of torque and weighs 60 grams. It launches at a low mid launch angle.I'm also a bit OCD about how everything looks and I prefer a minimal black look if possible. As far as budget, if I get a new shaft I have to make it worth it. If it ends up being $100 all in to get it installed w/ a grip, I'll be tempted to just get a whole new driver set up.

Anyone have any recommendations?

If you liked the stock shaft, then buying one on Ebay seems a pretty simple and affordable option; there are bunch of those for sale. As long as you buy a shaft with the correct Ping adapter, there aren't any installation costs that way; unscrew the old one, and screw the new one in. FWIW, I think the G25 adapter is a essentially a one-off; the G20 was glued, and Ping changed the adapter for the G30. (The G25 adapter may have also been the one used in the Anser driver as well.)

You might want to throw an ad in the Wanted To Buy forum. I gave away one of those stock shafts a while back because I couldn't sell it. Not saying it's a bad shaft, just that a lot of guys around here get wood for aftermarket shafts so the stockers are not in high demand.

I have a stock g25 shaft you can have. I’ll check tomorrow if it is stiff or reg, im pretty sure it is stiff. I just don’t remember. And I’m not sure if it has the adapter on it, but you could use the one from the shaft you broke. I’ll check it out tomorrow afternoon when I’m free.

Call ping, you may be able to get the same shaft from them with adapter very reasonably. Probably would have to send your broken shaft, but they used to keep a stock of previous year shafts. If not they will probably offer you the closest current model. I would think this would be your best bet as the shaft you have is counter weighted and made to ping. Specs by UST most likely. Although I understand aldila made some for the G25 also, I’ve never scene one.

Ping still sells the G25 shafts and they are dirt cheap. Brand new with the proper adaptor and as long as your retailer doesn't screw you over, likely under 75$. Nothing like the real thing.

Ok I've reached out to ping directly to see what they say. Roger Dunn was going to charge $80 to order from Ping, which isn't terrible, but it's still close the line where I'd just buy a new driver.

I definitely feel like there should be some old stock shafts laying around, it's just a matter of finding them. I'll put up a WTB post in the classifieds.

The other day I was stuffing my bag into the trunk of my car while a bunch of other stuff was in there like my push cart and the driver snagged on the side of the trunk while I was still pushing the bag in. Fortunately I stopped pushing but I can see how it's possible to bust a driver shaft that way.

The Ping TFC 189 is still sold by Ping.  Just need to go to a Ping retailer and have them order one.  They are dirt cheap.
