Ping G410 weights

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. I'll have to wait to do the hotmelt thing as I'm still using this driver and there's not really much of the season left in NW Pennsylvania. I may look to order some weights to see how that feels and then from there, send it to Will Peoples in the off-season to do the hot melt. I really only want the hotmelt for sound purposes. Again the G410 LST sounds fine, better than some previous versions but I'd love to have that "thwack" or "click" sound.

Pulled the trigger and got two 8g weights that I'm going to try in the Fade and Draw position. I'm guessing with more weight at the back end, should that move the MOI and increase launch as well?

Going by my limited fitting and then 10 at the range yesterday with my own one- 14g back weight and a 9* head off the shelf. and a 16g back weight and added 3g hot melt neutral and a digitally lofted 9* head I notice nothing in launch except feel is sooooo much better.

I am playing in a couple hours so will see on the course compared to my M3.

@scott_Donald do you think the feel is due to the weight(s) position or the hot melt?

no idea, if I was to do an educated guess then it's the hotmelt and overall weight being up with a shaft I was used to.

I've played 54 holes now with the two weights in my 410 LST, and to me there are definitely some Pros and Cons to what I'm seeing. I feel there is definitely a performance upgrade here and I went from a 14 gram weight and switched to 2-8 Gram Weights in the Fade and Draw position. To me, this is a big Pro. I know I've had a couple drives that weren't spectacular and I was pleased with where the ball ended up, both dispersion wise and distance wise. The Cons are that I'm definitely sending this thing away for hotmelt. Feel is gone and the sound got worse, in my opinion of course. It sounds like it got a little more "Pingy" (no pun intended) and feel on the face is about gone. Only when I absolutely tattoo it in the dead center of the clubface can I feel any difference. I want that feel back and I definitely want a completely different sound. This driver flat out performs and I love the 2 weight idea. Sound and Feel have to change though. Anyone know how much Hot Melt would have to go in to completely change the sound and feel?

> The dual weights alone in the lst feel great. Definitely some added forgiveness & super stable. If I can get the lst to feel like the 410+ I had with just a little added hot melt, I'll be in heaven.

Curious. Why did you switch to the LST head over the Plus? Seeking even more reduced spin?

I went with 12g middle and 6g toe in my G410 LST @ 44.50” SW @ D4. Club still feels very stable with the heavier weight in the middle and the sound/feel is a touch better. Can really rip at it without fearing that dreaded snap hook. Part of me wants to experiment with 6-6-6 or 2 heel 6 middle 8 toe but for right now I’m dialed in so going to leave well enough alone.

Hi all! I've got the g410 lst which comes with a 12 gram weight. I got the tour shaft they come with but always a felt it was a bit light. So I ordered a 20 gram weight and now the club feels good. I haven't played around with weights before so wanted to ask if anyone knows what will happen now that I have a 20 gram weight in the neutral position? I haven't had a chance to hit it hence me asking first ?

Bumping this as I have just got hold a G410 Plus and it seems to be very light. I have changed the shaft from the original Alta to a Tensei, it’s slightly shorter so expect a small sw change. But this is coming out C6. I have checked pings specs and the head weight should be 206g, mine is 188g with the 14g weight in. Is it normal to have such a difference from the spec headweight? If my thinking is correct I will need to add about 10g to get to D2/D3. The heaviest weight online is 20g which wouldn’t get it there, so would have to hotmelt or use two weights. Any advice that can help me thanks.

Wow mine was spec'd direct from Ping at 209g I think(LST is slightly heavier), your one is certainly very light.

Assuming Tensei Orange then that is counter balanced so that would reduce the swing weight.

I have Hotmelt and a single weight in mine. Lead tape might be an option too.

i replaced the stock 14g weight with 6g in neutral, 4.5g in draw, and 3.5g in fade since my typical miss is leaving the face too open and going right. it feels more stable at impact but as i understand it, moi will decrease as you move weight more forward but increase as you distribute weight out side to side. does anyone have any idea what the net effect on moi is by spreading out the weights?

What is the standard weight with the g410 driver? Mine has a 14g so, not sure if that was stock or not.

Also, what is the heaviest weight you can find for this club if I wanted to cut .75" off and add weight.

thanks

There is no standard; it depends upon the head's weight before they try to obtain the target swing weight.

You sure this isn’t a Chinese copy? I know that’s sounds harsh but that weight does not sound right at all, not even close. Even with no weight at all it should be over 190.

Bumping this as I have been playing around with multiple weights.  Feel and Sounds is best when at least one weight is kept in neutral position.  Mine had a standard 12g weight which was too light.  I am messing around with 16 - 18 gram combos with weight in all 3 ports or weight in just neutral and toe and haven't decided on which is best.

I have 410 LST with 2 6gram weights in fade and draw positions. I found that splitting the weights dropped the launch and gave me better stability on miss hits. I feel I tend to miss heel and toe rather than high and low on the face. It’s been the best driver I’ve ever owned

Just picked up a new G410 LST and it had a 12g weight.   I had ordered two 6g before I picked up the driver.  I have tried heel and toe and actually like center and toe best.  Ball flight is fantastic and sound is actually very good.  May not have to hotmelt.  Getting a shaft fitting on the 31st.  It's between Sim Max, Speedzone Extreme and the G410 LST.  Whatever is straightest and longest
