Cracked G400 Max head

Morning! 1st tee yesterday, a playing partner noticed the hosel on my Ping G400 Max is cracked! I bought the club new from a retail store. Don’t know how long it’s been this way. What’s the odds on Ping helping me out on this? I’m gonna call their customer service later today.

From what I remember this is not an unknown or uncommon failure of the G400 line. I think Ping will take care of you.

Ping will replace it. A good friend of mine had 3 of them crack in that exact same spot although I know that isn’t what you want to hear. Their “adapter has some issues seating properly sometimes” was the explanation he got

I don't know why people post these on WRX before contacting the retail outlet they bought from or the MFG directly.... Cracks me up every time.

Check with the MFG and then report on your experience with them....

Ping will replace it. Now, if you can wait a few months, you might get lucky and Ping will replace it with the “yet to be released” new version of the Max. Otherwise you will get the same in about 10-14 days.

To be fair, there is A LOT of info on this site, which is good, but things easily get lost and sometimes it is easier to just post it up for a quick answer...People are very helpful around here and it's always good to hear each individual experience to know what the manufacturers are doing in cases like this. Some people get the same head, others get a new head and adapter... either way it holds them accountable. That said, Ping is great. My G400 cracked in the same spot and my local store replaced it on the spot and dealt with Ping directly themselves. Will be interesting to see how you make out, OP. I get the feeling Ping would send you a 410 and adapter but can't say for sure. Call your store where you bought it and see what they say about a replacement...

I had the same thing happen to a g400, got in touch with Ping who sent me a free shipping label and I sent in the head, shaft and head over. Once they inspected it they send me a new g410 plus at no charge.
