PXG 0211 irons - what do you think?

So I’ve been a die hard Ping guy for nearly a decade. And guess what, I completely agree with you. I keep telling people, “they’re just fancy Pings”. And I mean that in a great way. The remind me of the i series irons, but with insanely better feeling and slightly more modern technology.

im so loyal to Ping (why?), I really hesitated to order these. But I’m so glad I did.

Just got an email that could be interpreted as stating that the 0211 irons are on sale "while supplies last." The wording below is vague enough that the "while supplies last" could just apply to apparel, but, who knows...

Those are the prices for the Heroes program...not standard pricing. Standard price is $135 for the 0211.

Ordered last week at $125 since I don’t qualify for Hero’s Pricing (thanks current and past hero’s for your service). Going with MMT as these old bones need a little TLC. Can’t wait to get them

I have been a fan of this company from day 1 and I still thing the 0211 is the greatest marketing tactic ever employed in the game of golf. It's sneaky but so so true to name and the audacity of it's founder. Having said that I don't own them as I was a #pxgtroop from Gen 1.

Totally the opposite as I'm a huge fan. The United States Marine Corps MOS designation for 0211 is "Recruiter". The PXG 0211 is the first step to becoming a PXG troop. You start at 0211 "The Recruiter". Brilliant.

Obviously with old Ping staffer's on board from the start we shouldn't be surprised with the similarities. I as well have been a huge Ping fan, very happy PXG has kept the look at address and has like u said modernized the heck out of them. I had some original 0311's for a short period, the 0211's feel and look better to my eye, not as bold in your face looking without the screws. I kinda like hiding in plain sight. Will be interesting to see what they come up with if and when they make a 0211 Gen 2.

I basically got these because I was tired of waiting for Ping to make something with lower offset, mid size, and with great feel, PXG beat them to the punch. Waiting for Ping to make something with i210 low offset, looks, and feel sized between the i210's and 410's. Think they would have a winner on their hands. K310's K320's??? Stealth black finish and feel would be a bonus.

I saw the 211 only once, but did look big, bigger than the G410. Is it smaller?

The 0211's won't be confused with the Blueprints any time soon, I can't say that the 0211's are smaller than the G410's, I don't have one handy to compare them. I was pleased upon seeing the 410's at address when they first came out, definitely an improvement but thought Ping still missed the mark. Very forgiving MOI wise but not a fan of the over all look of the G410. The 0211's on the other hand were very appealing to me looks wise, enough so to buy them without ever seeing one in person. Next to my new to me Ping i5's the 0211's have less offset and a thinner top line, sole width is narrower as well on the 0211's. The groove area is about 1/8 of an inch more compact heel to toe on the i5's. Seeing that the i5's have been rated very high over the years, PXG has done a pretty good job with these, perfect no but a very good start.

You are spot on. However, the Corps has changed MOS' recently so its possible that Recruiter used to be 0211, though not likely because it would have been a Class B MOS and I don't think any of those ever started below the 8000's. My old Class B MOS' (8541 and 8654) have ceased to exist.

It’s definitely smaller than the 410. It’s longer heel-toe than my i25’s but with a much thinner top line and less offset. Take a look at these pics between my 0211 and i25.

Isn't the G400? G410 is a tad smaller, maybe in pair with the 211?

That club I’m comparing it to is an i25. The 0211 is still smaller than the 410. It’s very close to the i series. It actually looks smaller from address.

For me I find the 0211 closest to the old i5 which was the perfect blend of Ping forgiveness and playability for me. My 0211’s are out for a reshaft right now into KBS TGI’s. Looking forward to giving them a go with the new shaft(s).

Who is doing your re-shaft. Because near me it is hard to find anyone to do modifications to PXG irons without actually taking them back to PXG.

Comparatively a better feel with the 0211’s, center struck shots are pure, you’ll feel it on the toe but you should! As for trajectory, 0211’s are slightly higher but that is more a function of the shaft I previously had in the them (Nippon 950) versus the old style Ping JZ steel

I ordered my clubs and am tracking them I live in St.louis and the clubs are in Kansas City it I am getting a shipment exception posting on the tracking.What does that mean if anyone has gone thru this?

Thanks for the reply, always nice getting confirmation on the great feel of the 0211's. I have only hit them off the matts at an indoor/outdoor range in cooler temps with range balls and was very impressed with the feel. Mine have the elevate tour stiff shafts, ball flight was more than acceptable for me, my dreaded toe shot was absent as well. Very pleased so far. What shafts are u upgrading to?

Generally, shipment exceptions mean that the shipping company (UPS/FedEx/etc.) has messed up and taken your package to the wrong facility. In my experience, such exceptions generally delay the delivery of the package from one to three days.
