Golf Shoes

I have had some Adidas Golf shoes forever and I love them, but it is time to send them out to pasture. They are mostly mesh, so very light and they breathe well. The only issue I have had with with them was that my feet were soaked if I ever played an early round in the spring or fall. Does anybody have recommendations on some newer shoes that I should buy that will be equally as light, but also keep my feet dry?

 

**Not a big Nike fan as my feet are wide and their shoes don't fit me well.**

I have always been a fan of Puma and they may be what you are looking for. Although you don't like Nike, some of their models, like J's, have a wider toe box which is the problem you are facing. I would not recommend anything by UA, as their shoes are a bit heavy, stiff, and have a very slim toe box.

FJ's are always comfortable and are great at keeping your feet dry

I'll second Puma's. Ignite Pwradapt are like wearing slippers, great grip, waterproof as well. Have also had good luck with Ecco's.

just bought another pair of FJ dryjoy i had my last pair for about 6 years. last year i bought FJ pro SL I’m sort of happy with them a little lighter but the grip is not what I’m used to and they are not as waterproof as the dryjoys.

Skechers GO Golf Mojo Elite is a very comfortable shoe that comes in wider widths. It also has a 2 year warranty on its waterproofing its pretty light as well. GFore gallivanter if you want a classic look and more traditional fit. Truenlinkswear Original if you want a wider/athletic fit. Both amazing shoes, with different styles and fits, that provide waterproofing.

The new FJ Flex are now waterproof and really light. I have a couple pairs of last years model, unfortunately last year they didn't off a waterproof model.

Can’t go wrong with pro s/l if you’re leaning spikeless, just may need the wide version. I know you said no Nike but the Lunar Command 2s are wide/comfortable and have great traction, also can be found for cheap.

I mean you just gotta try stuff on and see what you like. Hard for other people to tell you what shoe is gonna work the best for you. I love my nikes and I've vowed to never buy a different shoe as long as they keep up with what they're doing. But everyone has their preference.

I'll chime in with G/Fore - Have two pairs that I love. They feel fantastic and wish I could just wear them around regularly.

Exactly right.

I always walk when I play. I favor waterproof trail running shoes for golf. They're comfortable, spikeless, and best of all, they can be cheaper than dedicated golf shoes.

Another vote for Puma. You do need to try them on, as they fit a half size larger for many people I know. Me too!

With wide feet, that's far easier said than done. Very few B&M stores carry a large selection of wide sizes. Realistically, in order to try a variety of shoes in wide widths, you need to order online from a site that has free return shipping, order a decent selection and return all but the winner.
