took delivery of mine the other night and now I can finally say that it’s done. There is a matching 3w behind the driver as well.

Went combo set and got the black shafts in the KBS $-taper.

@danielt823 how do you find the progression from the MMC to the MB? I was contemplating the 5-P in the MMC. Little bit more forgiveness "low and toe" which is my miss.

For me it’s where I’d like to split.

The 8 is generally an easier swing for me so I find that I can middle it a bit better and I like the idea of the feel in my scoring clubs.

Mizuno website says only the 4-7 have the tungsten weight in the toe anyway, so I figured I’d just split it there.

I’ve only hit them off mats but they replaced some old S5s and the one time I hit them (yesterday) they felt really good. I’m Trying just having a 51 and a 56 To keep an extra spot open for a 3i

Would extending a shaft e.g 1/2 inch such as the Modus 120 with a soft butt effect the performance at all?

got fit for these at Club Champion yesterday and absolutely love them!! Hit the MB's too and they felt even better. CC uses a 6 iron so I can definitely handle either the mmc or mb, probably could not consistently strike an mb 4 iron tho.

Curious if anyone has made a combo set with the MMC and MB?? It seems most are going MB with HMB but I find the HMB to be too big and chunky for my liking. I know lofts are different on MMC and MB but im considering 4-6 MMC and 7- P MB

 

Ive never owned Mizuno irons so im very happy I fit in to these. They were the first iron we started with and I knew right away they would be best

Ive had the mmc’s for a few months but have drooled over the MB’s since I purchased them. I now have a chance to pick up a very much discounted set of MB’s. My brain is saying stick with the MMC’s but my heart is saying buy the MB’s.

 

Anyone have experience going from one to another? Worth the switch or will I regret the added forgiveness the MMC can offer.

I went with 3 HMB, 4-7 MMC and 8-PW in MB.

decided to split at the 7 because the 7 MMC still has a tungsten weight in the toe whereas the 8 doesn’t. Had the MB lofts matched to the HMB/MMC.

IMO, the best combo set you can buy now. For my eyes they flow in to each other seamlessly.

hmmmmm I like that. Ive usually started my blades at 7 but that logic makes a lot of sense..... If I do decide to buy through club champion I just want to make sure im not regretting picking up the MB's b/c theyre so beautiful

I'm going 4-6 iron MMC and 7-PW MBs.

I felt the same way about the HMBs. A little too big and they also flew a way too high as I already hit a really high ball.

My next step is to go hit more shafts off grass before I decide.

I will be ordering MP20 MMC (4-PW) with KBS $ Taper. Which goes better with the head in terms of looks?

Black or the chrome $ Taper?

I am thinking the chrome will be better but it will be good if you guys could share some pics.

Black shaft with chrome head looks like my sun tanned leg with white socks lining that didn't get tanned...

My son just ordered 4-hmb 5-7 mmc, and 8-pw mb does the 7 to 8 transition well?

Not without strengthening the 8 or weakening the 7, in my opinion

Correct. I strengthened my MB to blend in better, 7i carries around 161 (176yds) and the 8i now carries around 147m (161yds) roughly. Your sons results may vary and if he can get on a launch monitor first and get averages and work out what he would like to do from there.

I went for a fitting recently and narrowed it down to the MP20 MB. They felt amazing but I am waiting till the weather is warmer before purchasing them. Don't want to stare at brand new clubs and not be able to hit them outside for months.

Had my Mizuno MP20 MMC for about a month now and had 3 rounds with them.

I played Sunday and managed to shoot my best every score by 3 shots.

I shot level par at my club which is a tough track.

To say I was delighted was an understatement. I was 3 under with 3 to play until the old nerves kicked in and made a double on 17 - but still. My lowest round of my 'career'. All of it was down to my iron play. I was knocking pins down. The amount of control with these clubs is an absolute joke. I had it on a string. I made 6 birdies in my round and i dont think any of my approaches for these was over 7 feet. Just delighted that I got them. Turf interaction and feel is phenomenal. I love the dull thud of them.

Im a bit annoyed I didnt get the 4 iron however - i ended up deciding to go with the HMB. I hit it once (flushed it) and it just felt like a kettle compared to my MMC.

Just got my set in. Played 919 tours and am trying 4-7 HMB 8-PW MMC. Can't believe how nice these feel. The HMB 5i is longer than my 919 tour 4i. I have Modus 120 Stiff shafts 1/2" long. Had 105's in the 919's. Wish I would have stuck with the 105's but they are still really good. Really impressed so far. Going to play again tonight!

I thought these irons felt as good as anything ive ever hit. Unfortunately they dug on me to much I had to get rid of them. Wasnt happy getting rid of them

Interestingly, I just received my HMB 5 iron and 6-P MMC in the Modus 120 + 1/2", and I too thought the HMB felt long compared to my MP18 5 iron Fli-Hi. Might take it into my golf shop and double check. I ordered the black/black MMC grips and they turned up with the white /black ones but overall they seem on spec. Looking forward to hitting them.

Sorry if this has been asked on here before. I game a set of 718 AP2s and really like them. Headed in for a Mizuno fitting to see if I can get any improvements. Can anyone compare the 20 MMC and the JPX 919 Tour in terms of harshness and performance? Any thoughts about the 2 Mizuno vs AP2?

I guess I meant forgiveness on an off center strike. I am guessing they are pretty similar. I have found the AP2 very forgiving. If I can handle the AP2 from a ball striking perspective, should be able to handle JPX Tour and MMC?
