New vs Old Toulon....

I am looking at grabbing a Portland, curious thoughts on newer ones. Face feel any different or is milling the same, just expanded?

Its tough to compare since I have a stroke lab in my new one and a steel in my old one. I will agree with the other comment that the odyssey branding is terrible. I wish they would have kept the Toulon badge on the front at the very minimum. However, both feel solid and I don't have any complaints thus far.

Same thing just more, way more Odyssey branding on the new ones. But I do like the full face milling on the new ones vs the old ones. A perfect version would be old branding with new full face milling.

Am I the only one who finds the Toulon logo really ugly? I'd prefer all Odyssey branding over that 90's tech company "T".

Found a sweet deal on the older style at CPO, and had the heavy sole plate I wanted.

I got a Stroke Lab Las Vegas on CPO recently and really like it. To me, the full face milling looks so much better than the partial milling on the older toulons. I don't really care about the badging tbh.

I don't find the Toulon logo ugly, but I don't hate it. The Odyssey branding doesn't bother me one bit. I like the looks of the Las Vegas a lot, and would still like it if it said "Toulon" vs the current Odyssey branding.

I like the full face milling and the putter as a whole more than I don't like the branding. Honestly, I don't care about what is written on the cavity. Did it look better with the Toulon brand, yes. It still looks the same from the top down at address. Feels great at impact. Really enjoying the Las Vegas at the moment. I put a kbs ct tour shaft in it and like it so far.

I have the newer Stroke Lab Portland but can't compare it to the older version as I've never played that one. I love the feel and the looks and don't mind the Odyssey logo/branding. Don't some/many of the Scotty Cameron's have "Titleist" on them?

No issue with the new branding, at first I thought it was cheesy. Honestly, I don't like the Toulon branding that much so the Odyssey on the Las Vegas doesn't bother me. Feel is pretty good, no difference from old to new, agree the full face milling just makes more sense.

My whole deal was being able to finally roll one, the once I did that and liked the feel, objective was to find sub $200 with a heavy sole plate, outside that, didn’t care about shaft, branding or which face.

I got my old style Portland yesterday, the sent the wrong putter, was 36” with some long goofy grip, so got a $40 refund, so only $150 in it, sending Monday to get a new black shaft and my staple grip that I have a few of, loving the feel and weight with the 40g sole plate.

I think I want to get one of the new ones. I loved the Columbus but they don't make those anymore. What do you guys think is the most similar of the new versions? I was thinking maybe the Portland since it seems to have the same weight and toe hang.

I am very happy with the old style Portland I got from them. I rolled in a 20 footer for birdie the first time I stroked it on a golf course.

I just got a Portland (new style) on CPO, loving the Vegas but might see if the smaller footprint works for me too. Just good feeling putters all around, and few good styles to choose from.

Reviving this thread with the question of older vs newer 2022 Toulon's.   My question is there a difference with the weighting in the bottom?  I just started to thin about the Atlanta shape.

The split weighting seems more stable to me.

should only be related to the weight distribution, no ? not sure what weight the wings are from the original, or how it compared to the total weight, but the new one will have more weight in the center due to the coverage.

At least with the old design, you can try to find a 40g center plate, which looks to be the same standard size together with the other putters. The new style is one piece and i doubt whether it has other weighting options.

Lead tape is your friend.
