How many have found their "utopia" golf ball?

I've been using Srixon for at least 10 years now, currently using the Z-Star. I've tried a lot of balls that I find along the course, and really like the B-RX. It feels and plays similar to the Z-Star. I also have some ProV1s in the cupboard and use them from time to time. All three of these balls are close in performance and feel.

Srixon Trispeed Tour, seems to be the perfect ball for my 18 handicap and my 95 mph swing speed. I have tried so many kinds of balls over the years. I bought 8 dozen at Golftown on sale for $18.75 a box. Now they back up to $34.99 a box. I shot my best score ever with this ball in September at Black Mountain in Kelowna, BC from the Blue tees (par 71), an 83 and that was with double bogey on 15 and 18. Oh what could have been??? I was on fire that day.

I now have total and complete confidence in my ball on every shot. One less variable to worry about.

Not sure what I will do with the 18 dozen multiple brands of balls on the shelf in my closet.

For me I thought it was the Bridgestone Tour BXS. The ball did everything I wanted, feel was just right. Spin was just as I wanted. That was until they were sold out at Dicks and Pro V1s were on sale for 39. The difference on the putting green performance of the Pro V1 for some reason is just night and day. I dont know if it's how its rolling off the face of the putter or just feel. But putting stats dropped dramatically when I put the Pro V1 in play. I have since tinkered on the putting green with various balls and I simply do much better with the Pro V1.

So.. its Pro V1 for me.

B XS. I love that ball. The TP5 is a very close second and I played that most of 2017/18, but this year I been sold on the B XS. I'm really bummed they are changing it for 2020, so I stocked up 8 dozen, which should last me all of next season.

 

The B XS is easy to control for me, and yet, when I need to hit a crazy draw around a tree or a forest, it can do it. It's a wizard ball around the green and I like the feel off the putter.

 

I do think the TP5 is slightly longer off the driver, but it's not much.

I had been satisfied with the outcome with Pro V1x. It was almost utopia, but it wasn't due to the price tag.

 

Now I can say Snell MTB-x is my current utopia, because to me the outcomes are very similar with Pro v1x, but the price is lower.

Bridgestone Tour B RX and its predecessors and successors. I've tried others but keep coming back to it.

Would need to be a hybrid of several models. 2013 V1 for feel and durability, Strata Tour Ace for drop and stop control and Cally I(X) for sheer distance.

Srixon Z Star Series has been something I have always come back to. Recently the XV has been the best ball for me. Price, colors, and performance have been exceptional. On another note, I have noticed that the XV performs better with my current set of irons. Ball flight, trajectory and spin have been a perfect match with the current set up. With my older irons, performance was better with the regular Z-Star. I will be stuck on the XV for a while.

Z star in yellow has me absolutely smitten with golf right now. I like everything about it.

 

Looking forward to finally trying out the BXS soon.

Played PV1X almost exclusively from release to last year. Switched to straight PV1 for flight. Tinkered with AVX to lower flight, but kept coming back to PV1. Does everything I want and am familiar with it.

 

Have tinkered with Cromesoft X that I really enjoyed. Didn’t get along with 2017 ZStar that I shortly dated.

 

Keep coming back to PV family.

I couldn't agree more. Wish they'd just leave well enough alone...Geeze! Kinda miss the days of balata, surlyn or a rock covered ball, lol. ...And look @ the decline of Stacy Lewis' game once they took away her "Utopia" model of the Pro V1x. Let's @ least move out the model/design change time to 4-5 years.

I know it is against WRX rules of find one ball. But, I like playing different balls. From QTP, old gamersofts, Soft Feels. I switch out depending on warm vs cold weather. I know to play a low runner for surlyn and pitch it to the hole with urethane, it is not rocket science.

I have played just about every ball (urethane) made over the last 5 years.

I had thought the Chrome Soft was the best ball for my game. I like the travis, and bought a bunch over the last year. [Although TM TP5 is a very good ball also.]

I grabbed two doz QStarTours over the summer - dropped my cap almost 6 strokes. Went back to the Chrome Soft - cap is now back up those same 6 strokes.

So I got 5 doz QST for the season, and plan on playing those for competitions, while playing daily with the 18 dox CS I already own.

I miss the 2015 Pro V1x. That's my favorite ball of all time.

In high school it was the Nike ONE but right now it is the ProV1x. Still need to try the Tp5X though.
