When would you guys like to play? I have tried to play some rounds with people from reddit but it always seems to fall through.

Man I just saw this thread as well. I'm up in Liberty and have been a Shoal Creek member for the last few years. Would love to get a group going for next year, unfortunately for me it will have to wait until probably April as I am having Rotator Cuff surgery in 6 days. I will be monitoring this forum quite a bit in my down time though...

I am in the KC north area as well. I play a lot of golf alone, but am looking for a regular group to play with. I am late 40’s, just getting back to playing after a 5 year break. I am playing to about a 13 right now and have a KC value card, am a member at Excelsior Springs, but will play anywhere. I prefer to walk with my push cart and love trash talk. I may not be able to hang, but will do everything I can to compete...

I've been playing at Shoal and Falcon Lakes during all of this. Walking Shoal and taking my daughter with me over to Falcon Lakes since they have carts (I also play on the Falcon KC Cup team so I need the rounds). We should try and set something up soon.

okay, I'm gonna try and bump this topic up...

i run the random golf club kansas city chapter and IG account, @RGCKC and am always looking to help players around here meetup. this site finally got decent again with the boards, so I revisited and only found this thread now...

It's not too late to organize a gathering, perhaps in Liberty where half the posters live... shoal is always nice, but the bigger a group the smaller the venue? i hold the RGC events at heart of america, the old Blue River golf course in swope park. its in good nick at the moment, and we've still got a few weeks left in the season, months really... LETS DO THIS, there or shoal or anywhere...

need to revive the WRX meetups here.

I am moving to the area in a few weeks from Ohio.  I haven't gotten a house yet so I will be in temp housing for a bit.  If you guys are getting together to play at all, let me know.  It's hard to get a feel on what the golf is like there.  We are pretty spoiled here in Ohio but I think it's all about perspective.

Where all have you played so far and what are you looking for?

I haven't played anywhere yet.  I don't get there until next weekend.  I am not really sure what I would be looking for.  I will probably try out some public courses for the rest of the summer and see how that goes.  I like all sorts of courses, from wide open links type to regular parkland types.  I am not a member of any courses here in Ohio, mostly because I do like traveling around to play and the only good private courses are either too far from work or too far from home.  Plus, the public courses around here are really good and very reasonable for the conditions.  My concern heading to KC is that tee times might be much harder to come by.

Send me a message some time and if I’m available I can get a round in.  I play mainly at Shoal Creek near Liberty, and Falcon Lakes over on the Kansas side.  Lots of good public options, but tee times are sometimes hard to find mostly because of tournaments

Sounds good.  I played Ironhorse Saturday.  It was a pretty nice course.  I might play today but not sure where yet.  Shoal Creek is one I’ve been looking at.

Ha - haven’t really started playing again yet. Just a little. But I’m close!
