Ping release Fall 2019?

i am (not so) patiently waiting. I am ready to pull the trigger on i210s but if I did pay full price now and new ones were released before I even had a chance to play a round, I’d have some buyers remorse.

I love my i210’s 7-U. I also really love my G700 4-7. However, if the new G710 we’re better than my G700, then I would upgrade for sure.

Same here. Local shop said I210 is save until late fall. I would expect i210 replacement around the same time as the Glide 3.0 wedges came out this year.

Ping is so inconsistent now. Their releases are all over the map....plus, I LOATHE fall releases.

In both the PGASUPERSTOREs I visit, the iBlades were recently gone.... not just from the area where the full sets are displayed, but also from the fitting area where the screw on heads are available to be matched with shafts.

i told the rep that I wanted to hit an iBlade, he looked around for the head and was surprised that they weren’t available.

 

i play i20’s and I think it’s time for a new set...

If they are pushing the i series release to the fall, then i feel its probable that they release the next gen iBlades at the PGA show.

it would muddy both releases to do i and iBlade at the same time.

and perhaps there is an outside chance they merge the i series and iBlade. The G series has moved closer to the i Series in recent releases. Maybe they split the difference between the Blue prints and G series with one set of irons v. two. The iBlade and i210 series are very similar from 6 iron on down. Split the offset difference in the 3-5 iron, or offer two irons in the long irons, and call it good. Call it the Is or Si series.

I will be moving to MP-20’s if they don’t take the new iBlades to market.

I’ve never got on with a Ping putter, but as long as they keep making amazing drivers they will have at least one spot in my bag.

The "PLD issue" is that most of their staff is playing PLD putters and they can't seem to get them to market. From what I hear you can't even special order one now no matter how much money you have. I think this was a bad move by PING.

Our rep said you need to actually go to PING HQ for a scheduled fitting. I'm headed there in March and we'll test this theory out, and I'll ask questions.

On top of that, they’ve interfered with EBay auctions that involved the PLD. Very heavy-handed.

I'm a broken record on this matter, but I find the PLD issue to be extremely disappointing. Having a line of putters which only tour pros can access/play, and different ones for Joe Public, completely goes against the company's founding principles of golf for all, and the same clubs fitted for anyone who wants them.

Other than Jim Wells putter modifications for tour use, Ping never separated their equipment out like this in the first 55 years of their existence. Why start now? I think they will lose a lot of loyalists, myself included. Madness.

No they won’t. The general public doesn’t even know what a PLD is. You’re thinking like Golfwrx is the norm for your consumer when in fact it’s more like 1% of the market. I worked in the industry for almost 20 years not allowing consumers to buy PLD putters is not hurting Ping at all. They might be missing out on a few thousand dollars and that might not even cover the cost of the time and tooling it takes these putters to be made.

We determined that a PLD putter can be had by anyone from Ping - indeed via a custom fitting at the HQ in AZ. Expensive, but not terribly so.

Ping halted my first eBay PLD Prime Tyne purchase, however, I got the second one (though they did try to get it back after the fact).

There will be a price drop on I210's towards the end of January, Source's say new I series iron should be out in Feb, that would be the 18 month cycle that they have followed since the conception of the I20, this is what the Rep has been hinting on. Ping is also the best at holding it's release info until the last few weeks of release.

I don't want to put sources agaimst sources. But that is not what I've been told. If it turns out wrong. I'll be the first to come back and say it.

But G710 is the only iron/driver release in the first 1/2 of 2020.

i210 won’t be replaced until spring 2020, as well as an i500 replacement.
