Moving the lead foot like Patrick Reed

Transferring pressure to my lead foot over time gives me discomfort in the foot, once resulting in me being on crutches earlier this year. The doc said tendonitis. I have seen some pros, Patrick Reed and Bubba Watson come to mind, that rotate/move their lead foot way open near impact. I try it in my yard; I am pain free, but am not coordinating the move ideally. I have seen them do it on youtube but can't find an explanation of how exactly and when they do this so as not to lose stability, spine angle or compression. If anyone has thoughts or information on this I would appreciate it - meanwhile I will go back out to my yard and keep experimenting.

Generally speaking, all PGA pros are doing the same thing there. Watson is definitely on one extreme end though, I would say.

But the lead foot kicking out is a result, not a move. It is all the pressure that gets pinned into the ball of their lead foot and their trail foot. My opinion is that Bubba is more on both balls of his feet, which is why both of his feet get airborne.

Ultimately the pressure gets released into their lead foot heel. The secret sauce is, you are not doing anything with your feet. It's a result of your other body parts moving correctly and the feet are just on the receiving end, since that is what body part is touching the ground.

There's a lot that goes into this. It's not just a move.

I guess I worded that poorly. I meant I do not recommend trying to recreate their feet action by just actively using your feet. Like don't push your feet away from each other or corkscrew them into the ground to create pressure in the ground with just your feet.
