Titleist TS hybrids, U500 & U510 utility irons

What size shaft tip does the U500 take? Would a GD Tour 95x Driving iron shaft go right in?

So I’m confused and need yalls help. I have a U500 3 with graphite shaft, no problems feels great, however I ordered a U500 4 with steel X100 AMT and about a third of the time it feels like you hit a rock?? Sometimes I’ll pure it and it still feels this way. Very strange. The ball still goes and flies just fine, but it feels awful and sounds horrible when it happens too. Anyone else experienced this? Should I send it back?

Yes. I sold my very expensive U500 with Tour ad di 105x. Just felt awful. Horrible. Like I was hitting rock flights with them. Worse feeling club I've ever owned. Not kidding either.

I got my u510 4iron with a hzrdus smoke 6.5 today. So stoked to take it to the range tomorrow!

This is exactly how I feel about mine. Which is strange because my U500 3 is fine. There must certainly be a problem with some of the heads. It will vibrate really badly and make a loud crack sound. Not sure what to do.

I have a 3 and 4, both with the same Even Flow White 100 shaft. They feel oddly different from one another, but not anything to the extreme that you describe. I will pay close attention.

I got this sound yesterday on a 2-iron u500 shot. I believe it was because the strike was high on the face. All the other shots I hit with it on range and in play yesterday (maybe about 10) were completely normal.

I have a 3 in the 510 and a 4 in the 500. Toe shots or higher than sweet spot do feel clunky. However these are forgiving and still go when miss them. A well struck shot feels incredible. I couldn’t be happier with these clubs.

I have a U510 3 iron. The feel is incredible on good shots. High off the face is equally as incredible how bad it feels ?

U510 3 iron came in for me the other day. Have put it through it's paces and have a few notes. 1. It's loud as a driver in my opinion. Very loud in fact. 2. It's long and straight without exception. 3. It's never leaving the bag. That is all :)

Lot of talk about the U series irons but man I hope people are loving their TS2/3 hybrids if they have them! Just got fit for my 220 club ended up with the 21* TS2 with Tensei AV Blue 70HY shaft. Ended up going the Tensei blue to get more launch and spin to hold greens

Was anyone else shocked by the sound of the 510?

Over the years, I've broken a couple of graphite shafts over my knee and that is exactly what the 510 sounded like.

I kept looking for some flaw but it looks fine.

Just a terrible sound!!!!

Only have a 3 iron but it sounds awesome and flight is really good, I found I needed to flatten it a bit in lie but it a rocket launcher

The 510 heads sound more explosive to me and a little clickier.

 

the one thing to note is the heads that are being built with steel shafts will be light weight heads so they MAY not have as much hotmelt in them as the ones with graphite shafts. the standard headweight on these is about 3-4g heavier than the 718TMB due to the stock shaft being graphite.

I still need to see if they beat out my 816's, but Titleist has been making the best Hybrids for awhile now

Definitely worth a test to see. I had the 818H2 and needed something more forgiving. So I tested the 818H1 vs the TS2 and the TS2 won out on dispersion and ease of use

I have U500 2 iron with Smoke D2, 3 and 4 iron with AMT White s300 bit D2 spot on.

Has anyone bent their u500? Wondering if going a degree strong / degree flat will hurt the integrity of the club??

I have. All my irons (excluding sand and lob wedge) are bent 2 degrees flat. I am on the short side and it's either shortening the club or bending them. I don't like shortening them as that can have an impact on swing weight, so bending is the only option. Have been doing it for 20 years. My u500 plays fine.

I think this would put you around standard lie for Mizuno and Ping red dot. I was just checking all the lies as I was thinking about trying out a set of T100's to match up with my TS2 hybrid and TS3 3 wood, both of which I have set flat. I would hope that Titleist made the U series to be bent at least 2 degrees either way.

TS2 21 degree, knocked down a degree to 20 with the Atmos Blue Tour Spec Stiff shaft is unbelievable. So easy to hit and it flies high and far

I am interested in one of these. I read that the 3 is meant to be more hit down on and I am more of a steep player but it also looks tiny and demanding. My 3i HMB almost looks more playable although my biggest gripe with it is I hit it well just don’t get enough air under it off the deck. Maybe I need to give these a hit.

I'm super interested in a u500 with the PX Smoke. I absolutely love the 3i demo I've hit.

On the other hand, I love the TS3 19 deg with the Evenflow White shaft.

Similar distances, just different trajectories. More roll out with the u500, more carry with the TS3. Tough decision!

I hit both driving irons today, the 510 was so much more forgiving but the shaft didn’t fit my swing. I ended up finding a ts3 21 degree hybrid but was able to snag it with a Diamana d+ 90x shaft from their shafts. So excited for spring golf.
